What We Learned From #SunsAtWarriors

After finishing an eight-game homestand at 6-2, the Suns found themselves on the road for the first time in two weeks against the surging Golden State Warriors.

In fact, Saturday's matchup featured the NBA’s two highest scoring teams as the Suns average 107.2 per game and Golden State averages 110.9. The Warriors (15-5) and Suns (16-6) came into the night posting the second and third best records in the NBA since Dec. 17, both trailing only Atlanta (22-1).

Saturday certainly didn't end the way the Suns wanted, losing 106-87 to Golden State. Here's a few takeaways:

3. Keef's strong play

Against the Bulls less than 24 hours prior, Markieff Morris tallied a season-high 14 rebounds and scored 12 points as the Suns picked up a big victory over the Bulls at home.

Keef followed that game with another double-double against the Warriors (17 points, 11 rebounds).

Morris is averaging over 16 points on 49.2 FG% and six rebounds over his last 10 games.

2. Season series tied at 1-1

In the first meeting between these two teams this season, the Suns dominated the fourth quarter to turn an eight-point deficit entering the period into a 12-point 107-95 victory to hand the Golden State Warriors their first loss of the season at US Airways Center.

Saturday night, however, the Warriors rallied from a 12-point deficit early to come away the victory thanks to a 28-17 fourth quarter.

They will meet again on March 9 and April 2 - two games that will certainly be important to the Suns as they continue their playoff push.

1. A huge January nonetheless

Phoenix may have lost to the Warriors on Saturday, but January was an incredibly successful month.

It all started midway through December; the Suns are 16-7 in their last 23 games since Dec. 17

In January, however, the Suns went 10-5 which included a 6-2 homestand - all positive signs.

Phoenix returns home to face the always-difficult Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, February 2.
