What We Learned From #SunsAtRaptors

Coming into Monday's game in Toronto, the Suns were nursing a season-long four-game winning streak (the Suns’ longest since a six-game streak from March 19-28 last season), winning by an average score of 108.5 to 94.8 during the streak.

However, in the final game of their season-long six-game road trip in a 10 day span, the Suns fell to the East-leading Toronto Raptors, 104-100, in spite of a tremendous fourth quarter surge.

What did the loss reveal? A few things:

4. The Raptors are 12-2 for a reason

"We made a comeback," Jeff Hornacek said after the game. "We just made some bad plays and gambled towards the end. When you’re making a comeback down 17 in the fourth quarter, you can’t afford too many mistakes."

The Toronto Raptors are the real deal.

A major reason why is because of their tenacity on offense in terms of getting to the foul line. As Suns.com's Matt Petersen said in his preview, the Raptors are 2nd in the league in free throw attempts.

On Monday against the Suns, Toronto went 26-of-32 from the line compared to just 8-of-11 for the Suns.

3. Isaiah Thomas can be unstoppable

Led by Thomas, the Suns went on a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to make this game interesting.

Not only was Thomas hitting everything he put up, they were incredibly difficult shots. Thomas hit three-pointers from several feet beyond the arc, running jumpers and everything in between.

Thomas finished with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting (4-of-6 three-pointers) to go along with three assists, two rebounds and a steal.

2. The Suns are never out of a game

The Suns, understandably, looked a little tired in the first half. After all, this was their sixth game on the road in just 10 days.

However, after finding themselves down by 17 in the fourth quarter, it would have been easy to pack it in and be happy with a 4-2 road trip. Jeff Hornacek and the Suns wouldn't let that happen.

After a fiery timeout, the Suns went on a 14-0 run and took the lead at one point late in the game. It was an amazing comeback that, ultimately, fell just short.

Still, seeing the energy and passion from the team during their fight back into the game was special to watch - reminiscent of the magic created in 2013-14.

1. Eric Bledsoe's best game of the year

Over the last six games, Eric Bledsoe has averaged 13.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.7 steals.

After Monday's game against the Raptors, those averages will look even better.

Bledsoe was as active on both ends of the floor as he's been all season, finishing with 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks.
