SixthMan Tip-off Party
The Suns SixthMan was invited out for a day of fun at the US Airways Center to tip off the 2008-2009 Phoenix Suns season. A few thousand Suns season ticket holders came out for the Tip-off Party, which included the 2nd Annual Taste of Planet Orange. Located in the Casino Arizona Pavilion, ten Downtown Phoenix and surrounding area restaurants came out to sample their finest dishes to the ones in attendance. In addition to the food presented, the arena was filled with activities including Blackjack in the Lexus Club, Mrs. Bea Story Time, The Gorilla’s Closet, the Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix RoadRunners’ Headquarters, The SixthMan Mobile Headquarters, the NBA All Star Jam Session Headquarters, massages by Dolce Salon & Spa and the Suns Green Screen photo booth, which was all located in the Main Concourse.

Outside on the Plaza and Bud light Paseo, the live band, The Walkens performed. SixthMan, young and old were able to enjoy the inflatable bounce house and obstacle course while also taking part in a shoot around on the Sport Court. In addition to the other activities, the All Star Tour Truck was also on hand outside for ones to take a sneak peek of what will be going on during NBA All Star in February.
On the main court and Zero-Level, The Harlem Globetrotters and the Suns Dancers were able to get the SixthMan involved in various clinics and shows. Ones in attendance were also able to participate in the Desert Classic Free Throw Classic throughout the event.
The main event, Stump the Suns, concluded a successful Tip-off Party. The sports trivia game tested SixthMan, Suns players and coaches’ sports trivia knowledge. SixthMan, Justin Degassi and Suns Forward Matt Barnes took home first place.
