Suns Coach Earl Watson Visits Mexico for Nike Camp

Six months before his Phoenix Suns squad travels south of the border for a pair of regular season games, Earl Watson is visiting Mexico City this week to coach some of the best young international talent in the Western Hemisphere.

The Suns Head Coach joined the NBA in hosting 40 players from Argentina, Brazil, Canada and Mexico at the Americas Team Camp Presented by Nike.

The event, which runs through Saturday, consists of clinics teaching basketball fundamentals, life skills sessions focusing on leadership and healthy living, and competitive 5-on-5 games.  The camp will conclude with a 5-on-5 championship game and an All-Star game.

In addition to Watson, NBA players Jorge Gutierrez, Danilo Gallinari and Quincy Pondexter also are participating in the annual event in its fourth year. Watson, of course, has special ties to Mexico, as his maternal grandparents immigrated to the United States from there.
