Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On his teams play) “I thought we played well except that last little stretch where we struggled. We did a good job, we came out in the 3rd quarter, which is how we should have started the game and did a great job of establishing exactly what we wanted to do offensively, and then we did a great job defensively. Our rotations were much better and because of that we got a lot of easy shots.

(On Camby, holding his rebounds to zero in second half) “We had a little discussion about that at halftime, about Camby’s rebounding and not boxing him out and things like that. I think that point was well taken.

(On their second half play) “We did play with abandonment. We have to continue that, we were up 17 with five minutes to go and we have to close out that game and not be in a position where the game is hinging on one play. We have to close those games out.”

Suns Guard Steve Nash

(On Goran Dragic) “He is tough. He is a great player. He’s the key to their success lately and we tried to play as hard as we could on him and he still had a great game.”

(On third quarter) “We were very disappointed with the first half because we gave up a lot of offensive rebounds and lost a lot of hustle plays. We wanted to come out in the second half and make that right and give ourselves a chance to win. We were disappointed with our first half effort so we made up for it in the second half.”

Suns Forward Grant Hill

(On the victory) “That was a huge win for us. Every game is big and we didn’t play great in the first half. We were encouraged; we were only down by a small margin. We felt they were more of the aggressors in the first half. They played with more of a sense of desperation. We talked at half about limiting Camby and keeping him off the glass. We just came out with a sense of urgency in the 3rd quarter. The starters and the bench played well and we just did what we had to do to get the win.”

Rockets Head Coach Kevin McHale

(On the defense) “We missed shots and that effects us. In the 2nd quarter, our defense, they (Phoenix) started getting loose on us and we really were connected defensive-wise. Their (Phoenix) wings came out a lot. We had to help out a lot and had to fire back out. What they hurt us on was the pick and roll because that's what they do with (Steve) Nash.”

(On the fight of the Rockets) “The game was decided in the 3rd quarter tonight. We rallied again. This (Rockets) can fight. We rallied again but it just wasn't enough.”

(On Marcus Camby) “He played really well. Marcus played 31 minutes. He had 18 rebounds and 14 points. Marcus is rebounding guy for us. He had 4 assists and 3 blocks. Marcus did a good job. There were times that we had to make sure that we moved the ball more. There were times when he got caught with it a few times at the top of the key with the clock going down. Marcus did a good job.”

Rockets Forward Chase Budinger

(On their shooting on the road vs. home) “We got open looks tonight. Again our long range shot right now is not falling for the last two games. You have to give credit to them for making us shoot contested threes but we should be able to get easier shots than what we did tonight and getting out of transition more. That's been our strength all season, getting out getting layups, getting open 3's instead of settling into a half court offense and trying to shoot contested 3's. That's been our problem.”

(On playing Denver on Monday) “Yeah, these games are coming up and each one has more importance right now. You know, we just have to go back on the road and be road warriors like we have before and just try to get that win and try to be hungrier than other teams.”

Rockets Forward Luis Scola

(On what happened down the final stretch of the game) “We stopped playing the way we were playing. We stopped playing solid and hard and our chemistry is a little bit wrong right now. We're not making right decisions and you can see it on the court. We're not being as fluid as we had been. Both teams came in that were desperate and they played with a sense of urgency and we haven't.”

(On Denver coming down on Monday) “We're capable of winning big games. We just have to do it again. We have two big games against Denver right now and another against Dallas after that. It's going to be like that, it's going to be on the road against good teams. That's the way it's going to be.”
