Booker Invites Fan to Join Him at 2016 NBA Draft Lottery

Devin Booker will represent Phoenix in the Big Apple at the NBA Draft Lottery, but he won't be doing so alone.

The Phoenix Suns guard invited Jenna Warren, a 16-year old Suns fan with Down Syndrome, to join him in New York City for the May 17 lottery, which will determine the order of one (and possibly two) of Phoenix's first-round draft picks. Booker extended the invitation with a video on his social media accounts, and Jenna quickly responded with a video of her own.

Jenna first met Booker prior to the Suns-Utah Jazz matchup on April 3. Booker noticed that Jenna, who was watching warmups from the sidelines, was wearing his jersey, and the Suns rookie invited her to hang out with him on the court. Once Booker learned that he would be representing the team at the Draft Lottery, he took it upon himself to offer Jenna and her family the opportunity to join him on the trip. A photo of Devin and Jenna from the Suns-Jazz game is attached.

Booker will represent the Phoenix Suns at the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday, May 17 in New York City. The event, which will determine where Phoenix will select in the 2016 NBA Draft, is slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. (MST) and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

The Suns have a 37.8 percent chance of obtaining a top-three selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, with an 11.9 percent chance of landing the first overall pick. Phoenix has a 97.8 percent chance of having two Lottery picks in this year’s Draft, as the Suns hold the rights to the Washington Wizards’ first-round pick if that selection falls outside the top-nine.
