Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

We have a calmness about us. Our bench has the ability to do things for us to keep us in games. I thought that Goran and those guys, LB… They kept us to the point where we didn’t want to play Steve and those guys for the last ten minutes. That’s a real struggle for them so the bench did a good job of keeping us just within striking distance. Then I thought we did a great job the last 10, 12 possessions – we couldn’t have played them any better. I think you have to give them credit. Webster jumped up and made a couple of three point shots. Rudy came in and made one. But on the ones that they miss, we end up rebounding it. At the end of the night, they shoot 38 percent and to me, that’s a credit to our defense. Nobody really talks about it, but we like it. In the locker room, we pat each other on the back.

Suns Guard Steve Nash

We had a great training camp, our team really came together as a unit. We’ve got a lot of depth. We’re not the most talented team, but our chemistry and our ability to sacrifice for one another has been paramount to our success.

Suns Forward Amare Stoudemire

[The next series is] going to be a big series for us. There’s great history between us and the Spurs in the past five or six years, so this is going to be a great match-up. It’s going to be another great challenge for us. The Spurs play well in the post-season, so we just have to make sure we study the game of basketball, study their team’s offense and defense and see what we an do.

Blazers Coach Nate McMillan

Alvin and those guys, I think they are a tough team to guard and they were on top of their game. Just posed a huge challenge to us. Seemed like every time we were able to get close we’d make a mistake. Whether it was a turnover or a bad possession and they make you pay. Nash has had that MVP type season, Richardson was big this series, Amare came with his A game tonight. Those guys, Hill and the supporting cast, hate to call them that but they’re good. If you double team or leave them they’ll make you pay.

Blazers Forward Martell Webster

This was a very emotional season. This team had to go through a lot of adversity, a lot of big injuries, through that, this team stayed connected, stayed together, a lot of guys stepped up, exceeded their own comfort zones to help this team be a 50-win team. I definitely tip my hat to my teammates because we did a great job staying together this year.

Blazers Guard Brandon Roy

It’s kind of tough to be positive right now because we just got knocked out, but I’m proud of my team. All season long we just kept saying ‘if we can get healthy we can be pretty good.’ I wasn’t able to play this entire series, but I’m just proud of these guys with really stepping up and not making any excuses, not even when I got hurt before the Playoffs, we still thought we had a good chance of playing well and I’m just proud of these guys, they did an unbelievable job at battling adversity.
