Suns Oust Lakers, Advance to Semis
The Phoenix Suns overpowered their longtime rivals, the L.A. Lakers, to clinch their Opening-Round series, 4-1, on Wednesday, May 2. All-Star center Amare Stoudemire led the way with 27 points and 16 rebounds, and All-Star forward Shawn Marion chipped in 26 points and 10 boards. The Suns advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals, where they will meet another familiar opponent in the San Antonio Spurs.

Barbosa Named Sixth Man of the Year
Prior to tip-off of Game 2 between the Suns and Lakers, Leandro Barbosa was presented with the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year trophy. Barbosa became the fourth player in Suns history to earn the honor.
