Nash scored 11-straight points for the Suns on four driving layups and capped by a three-pointer to give Phoenix an early 14-5 lead.
Nash scored the last six points of the quarter for the Suns for a total of 17 points to go along with three assists and the Suns led 31-22 after one period.
Jason Richardson scored four-consecutive points late in the second period then followed with another jumper to give the Suns their biggest lead of the half at 53-39.
Amundson grabbed four rebounds for the Suns as the bench played much of the second period.
Leandro Barbosa contributed five points during the second quarter.
Amar'e Stoudemire contributed nine points and seven rebounds in the first half and Suns led 57-47 at the break.
Gentry liked what he saw on the scoreboard.
The Golden Grannies made their first appearance of the playoffs.
Goran Dragic provided relief for Steve Nash and scored four points.

The Spurs tied the score midway through the third period but Richardson scored five points during a 10-0 run to give the Suns an 85-75 lead going to the last quarter.
The Spurs made another run to close within one, but when Richardson hit a three-pointer with 1:23 remaining in the game, the Suns led by eight and went on to win, 111-102.

Nash is all smiles after a first-game victory over the Spurs. The playmaker finished with a game high 33 points to go with 10 assists.
STAT continued to attack the basket and finished with 23 points including five-straight free throws and added 13 rebounds.
