Once again the Suns found themselves playing back-to-back games on the road against a rested team when they met the Sacramento Kings on March 29. It was also their fourth game in five days.
Everything the Kings threw up seemed to go in as Sacramento scored 35 points in each of the first three periods. Shaq tried to bring the Suns back with 24 points and nine rebounds on the night.
Despite Steve Nash's 31 points and 14 assists, the Suns playoff hopes were dealt a severe blow when the Kings held on for a 126-118 vuctory.
The Suns scoring woes continued when they scored only 35 points in the first half against the Utah Jazz on March 28 despite 10 points from Grant Hill.
Matt Barnes and a linrup of reserves helped the Suns get back in the game in the second half.
Jared Dudley scored 15 points and pulled down 8 rebounds for the game and the Suns took the lead for the first time with just over five minutes to play.
