John MacLeod Through the Years

John MacLeod coached the Phoenix Suns from 1973 through 1987, winning 707 games in 13 plus seasons.
One of the youngest head coaches to lead an NBA team, the 36-year old MacLeod joined the Suns after five years as head coach at the University of Oklahoma.
All of MacLeod's home games with the Suns were played at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Long-time assistant John Wetzel is on the left and longer-time assistant Al Bianchi on the right.
Bianchi was an assistant coach for MacLeod for 11 seasons.
In 1978-79, the Suns won 50 games for the first time under MacLeod with the likes of (l-r) Bayard Forrest, Alvin Scott, Garfield Heard, Joel Kramer. Don Buse, and Paul Westphal.
