One-On-Five: Rapping With Miles Plumlee

Every week, Suns.com gives fans an inside look at the life of players off the court. This week, we talk favorite rappers of all-time with Miles Plumlee.

Miles Plumlee is having a career year.

The 6-11 center averages 9.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.96 blocks per game . If Plumlee can sustain this pace over the course of his sophomore NBA season,
he would join Amar’e Stoudemire (2003-04) and Larry Nance (1982-83) as the only players in Suns history to average at least 10 points, 8 rebounds and 1.5
blocks per game in either their first or second season in the NBA.

But here’s something you may not have known about Plumlee: He’s a rap connoisseur.

Don’t believe me? Check out the list of his top five favorite rappers below. It includes artists from multiple generations, various styles and lyrical
ability.

The Notorious B.I.G.

“This one probably isn’t surprising since he is on almost everyone’s list. But what he did for the game was amazing.”

Jay-Z

“Can’t go wrong with Hov. He just keeps getting better and better. You can listen to any of his albums over the years and they still sound current.”

Andre 3000

“I think he’s one of the most underrated, too. He’s always been so good.”

Kendrick Lamar

“It’s kind of early to throw him in but I really like him. He kind of burst onto the scene lately and I’m really liking his stuff.”

Slug (Atmosphere)

“I don’t know if a lot of people know who he is, but from a storytelling standpoint, he’s probably my favorite. I have more of a personal attachment to him
because I listened to them so much starting in high school.”
