The Phoenix Suns are trying to climb into the Western Conference's top eight, but that may be impossible unless they play better on the road against conference foes.

The Suns open a three-game road trip Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings.

Phoenix is in 10th place in the West - two games behind Houston for the final playoff spot and one game back of ninth-place Utah.

The Suns (26-26) bounced back from consecutive losses with a 92-75 win over New Orleans on Sunday.

With the race to the eighth and final playoff spot officially on, the Suns were able to capture one of the first legs on Sunday.

Coming into their matchup against the Hornets, who were owners of the worst record in the Western Conference, the Suns sat 2 ½ games behind Houston for the final playoff bid in the West. After a back-and-forth affair in the first half, the Suns used a 16-6 run to start the third quarter to break the game open before rolling to a 92-75 home win.

The Phoenix Suns are trying to stay alive in the Western Conference race, but will have to do it without Grant Hill for a few weeks.

Following back-to-back losses, the Suns hope they can start getting back on track Sunday night when they host the New Orleans Hornets.

Phoenix has lost four of six after winning four straight and sits in 10th place in the West - 2 1/2 games behind the final playoff spot.

Phoenix Suns forward Grant Hill today underwent a successful procedure on his right knee, the team has announced.

The procedure was performed by team orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Carter and was less than 30 minutes long.

Dr. Carter repaired a medial meniscus tear in Hill’s right knee, which was discovered in a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) on Thursday.

If rehab goes as expected, Hill will return before the end of the regular season.
