PHOENIX – Suns forward P.J. Tucker was presented with the 2012-13 Majerle Hustle Award tonight (April 7) during a pregame presentation prior to the Suns-Hornets game at US Airways Center.

The award is presented at the end of each season to the Suns player who most personified the hustle and determination that Suns Ring of Honor member Dan Majerle displayed as a player.

A video presentation featuring Majerle, who was unable to attend the Suns game tonight, was shown to fans as Tucker received his award.

The Phoenix Suns have assigned guard Diante Garrett to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, the club announced today.

The 6-4, 175-pound Garrett will spend his second stint in Bakersfield after he was originally assigned to the Jam on Jan. 10, where he averaged 15.1 points, 7.4 assists and 1.7 steals while appearing in seven games for the Jam (five starts). During his seven-game assignment, the Jam compiled a 6-1 (.857) record, including a season-best six-game win streak.

When the Suns step onto the court Friday night against the Golden State Warriors, the first objective will be to defend Stephen Curry – a player Sports Illustrated dubbed this week as potentially the best shooter in the NBA and maybe even the history of the league.

Suns interim Head Coach Lindsey Hunter couldn't refute that sort of praise when asked about Curry following his team's shoot-around. The numbers just about back up the theory, anyway, considering the guard is the second-best three-point shooter in league history at 44.6 percent for his career.
