Suns to Host "Week of Service" September 23-27

After an action-packed summer at US Airways Center, Phoenix Suns players, alumni, front office executives, and staff will take to the community during the “Suns Week of Service,” September 23 - 27. Events throughout the week will benefit various non-profit organizations in the Valley, as well as Central High School and the City of Phoenix. A full schedule of events is listed below.


Monday, September 23:

St. Vincent de Paul: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

1075 W. Jackson St., Phoenix, AZ 85007

Suns alumni, The Gorilla and Solar Squad will serve lunch to St. Vincent de Paul patrons.


Tuesday, September 24:

St. Mary’s Food Bank: 6 – 8 p.m.

3003 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85017

Suns alumnus Steven Hunter, The Gorilla and Solar Squad will be on hand to package food boxes.


Wednesday, September 25:

Rebuilding Together: 1 – 3 p.m.

US Airways Center (Plaza)

201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85004

Suns guard Kendall Marshall, Suns forward P.J. Tucker and The Gorilla will help build wheelchair accessible ramps for two Valley families. One of the families that will be receiving a ramp will also be in attendance.


Thursday, September 26:

Central High School: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

4525 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012

The Gorilla, Suns front office executives and staff will assist groups of students through different education stations.


Friday, September 27:

City of Phoenix, Graffiti Busters: 1 – 3 p.m.

Location TBD

Suns forwards Marcus and Markieff Morris and The Gorilla will paint over graffiti in the downtown Phoenix area.
