Posted: Sept. 15, 2010

The Phoenix Suns announced their 2010-11 television broadcast schedule today, which will continue to allow fans to see all 82 regular season games on either the Suns local broadcast networks or one of the NBA’s national broadcasts. In addition, for the fourth-straight season, the Suns will televise every game in High Definition (HD).

FOX Sports Arizona will televise 32 Suns games this season, including the club’s 2010 home opener on Fri., Oct. 29 against the L.A. Lakers in a 2010 Western Conference Finals rematch. FOX Sports Arizona will also air the lone visit of Amar’e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks on Jan. 7.

Fans will be able to see three of the Suns’ four matchups with the rival San Antonio Spurs on local television this season, including Nov. 3 and April 13 tilts on FOX Sports Arizona. Each broadcast features a pre-game and halftime show and following each of the network’s telecasts, a “Qwest Suns Live” postgame show, produced by FOX Sports Arizona, will air featuring game highlights and analysis.

My45 (KUTP) enters its 23rd consecutive season covering the Suns and will air 41 games (36 away), including the season opener at the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 26. Included in My45’s schedule is the Suns’ first meeting with Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and the new-look Miami Heat on Nov. 17 in South Beach.

The network will air the Suns’ first trip to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers (Nov. 14), two tilts with the Dallas Mavericks (Dec. 17, April 10), and two games against the Oklahoma City Thunder (Dec. 19, March 6).

The Suns will appear on national television 26 times this season, including an opening week visit of the Utah Jazz on Oct. 28 on TNT. Phoenix’s national television slate includes two appearances on ABC, 10 on ESPN, eight on TNT, and six on NBA TV. Twice featured as the NBA’s showcase game on ABC, Phoenix hosts the Orlando Magic on March 13 and will travel to San Antonio on April 3.

In addition, for the third consecutive season, TNT will be the exclusive television home of the Autotrader.com Open, the Suns’ outdoor preseason game at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif., this season against the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 9.

For the 41st-straight season, all Suns games will be broadcast on the Suns flagship station, Sports 620 KTAR, with the “Voice of the Suns” Al McCoy calling play-by-play action and Tim Kempton providing analysis. McCoy has elected to reduce his travel this season and well-known veteran broadcaster Jeff Munn will assume the radio play-by-play duties on select East Coast road trips.

Returning to the Suns’ broadcast team are play-by-play announcers Gary Bender (FOX Sports Arizona) and Tom Leander (My45) and color analysts Eddie Johnson and Scott Williams. Tom Chambers, Kevin Ray and Leander will again handle pregame and halftime show duties. Arturo Ochoa and Ivan Valenzuela will broadcast Suns home games in Spanish on KSUN 1400 AM Spanish Radio.
