Phoenix Suns Relaunch Virtual Locker Room Site

New player interactions and visuals to reflect the club’s 2008-09 locker room

The Phoenix Suns have re-launched their award-winning virtual locker room website,, offering fans all-new videos, jokes and interactions.

Originally launched in January 2008, the first-of-its-kind website reflects the offseason changes made to the Suns’ roster, as well as the structural and design changes made to the real-life Suns locker room inside US Airways Center. Fans can now enter Head Coach Terry Porter’s new office, explore guard Steve Nash’s locker, or take a stroll down memory lane through the clubhouse’s new hall of history, chronicling the great players and moments through 40 years of Suns basketball.

The ever-evolving website features appearances by more than 20 Suns personalities, via the use of green-screen video, including Shaquille O’Neal, Amar’e Stoudemire, Grant Hill and even the new Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson. Fans will also enjoy celebrity guest appearances and music from multiple Epic Records recording artists, including Michael Jackson, Incubus, Menudo and Kat DeLuna.

"We think our fans are going to love ‘Season 2’ of our website, which is really like a virtual sitcom starring our players and Suns personalities,” said Vice President of Interactive Services for the Phoenix Suns, Jeramie McPeek. “In fact, our players enjoy participating in this project as much as our fans enjoy taking the online tour, as they get a chance to show off some of their acting and comedic skills.”

The website has been a slam dunk from a business perspective, as well, as the Suns have been able to integrate 15 of their marketing partners within the unique site this season, in natural and entertaining ways.

“Identifying points of natural integration is key in making the product placement of our marketing partners effective and unobtrusive," said Lynn Agnello, SVP of Marketing Partnerships for the Suns. "With the re-launch of the new virtual locker room tour we were able to identify a delicate balance of maintaining the integrity of the fan experience while extending value to our marketing partners."

Suns fans are encouraged to check out often as new rooms and more content is added throughout the season. The site, which was developed in conjunction with Equakecreative, a digital branding and marketing company, will soon be expanded to include behind-the-scenes tours of the Suns Dancers’ Locker Room and the celebrity dressing rooms of US Airways Center. was recognized with a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award in the advanced media category this past October, and has generated more than 6.3 million page views since launched. video clips are available for download at:
