SUNS DANCERS OPEN DOORS TO DRESSING ROOM
Launch of new virtual locker room coincides with NBA Dance Team Bracket

PHOENIX – Following the success of the Phoenix Suns virtual locker room website, SunsLockerRoom.com, the team has released a sequel expected to be equally as popular, starring the Suns Dancers.

SunsDancersBackstage.com opened its virtual doors today, giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek into the performers’ dressing room at US Airways Center. The family friendly site includes appearances by nine of the Suns Dancers via the use of green-screen video and offers dozens of entertaining interactions.

Fans who take the virtual tour will find the team’s 2009 swimsuit calendar hanging on a bulletin board, video of “Christine” skydiving on a mini-cam inside one of the lockers, a Verizon Wireless phone displaying the squad’s new Twitter feed (@SunsDancers) and some of the dancers’ recent routines playing on the locker room’s flat screen TV.

Developed in conjunction with Equakecreative, a digital branding and marketing territory, the site is also enhanced by music from Epic Recording artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Sean Kingston, Jessica Simpson and Brandy.

The new locker room’s launch coincides with the tip-off of the fourth annual NBA Dance Team Bracket, an online tournament pitting the 30 NBA dance teams against each other. The Suns Dancers will face Oklahoma City’s “Thunder Girls” in the opening round with voting taking place at Suns.com for 24 hours, beginning Tuesday, March 17, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time. The winner of the first-round matchup will advance to a second-round showdown on March 25.

The Suns’ original virtual tour, SunsLockerRoom.com, launched in January 2008 and has drawn more than 7.6 million page views. The ever-evolving site, which was recognized with a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award in the advanced media category this past October, was updated earlier this month with the opening of Head Coach Alvin Gentry’s virtual office, a new training room, weight room and players lounge, which offers six fully playable Suns video games.

Next up on the organization’s virtual road map, fans will receive a VIP pass into the celebrity dressing rooms of US Airways Center.
