OKLAHOMA CITY(AP) Matt Barnes hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with 25.7 seconds left to complete the Phoenix Suns' fourth-quarter rally and spoil Scott Brooks' home debut as the Oklahoma City Thunder's head coach with a 99-98 victory Tuesday night.

The Thunder led throughout the second half and had been up by as much as 16 in the fourth quarter before Steve Nash rallied the Suns with a 13-0 run.

Barnes' 3-pointer gave Phoenix its first lead of the second half. The Thunder had two final chances to win, but Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook both missed shots on their final possession.

The Suns scrambled around the court to run out the final 8.4 seconds without getting fouled.

Amare Stoudemire finished with 22 points, Nash had 20 points and 15 assists and Barnes scored 16.

Durant led Oklahoma City with 29 points and Chris Wilcox scored a season-high 18.

Nash hit a 3-pointer and a jumper as Phoenix reeled off 13 straight points. He found Boris Diaw open under the basket for a right-handed dunk that pulled Phoenix to 86-85 with 5:11 to play.

Durant answered with a jumper at the other end, and it seemed the Thunder might keep the Suns at bay when Jeff Green converted a three-point play off a layup in transition to stretch the lead to 91-87.

Durant added a 3-pointer to make it 95-89, but Nash scored Phoenix's next seven points to tie it at 96 with a jumper from the right side with 48.5 seconds left.

Wilcox scored inside for the Thunder, but Barnes had the answer with the game-winner for Phoenix.

Both teams simply pointed at each other from opposite ends of the court instead of shaking hands after the game.

Robin Lopez and Diaw each added 11 points for Phoenix, which played without Shaquille O'Neal in the first of back-to-back road games.

Westbrook scored 15 points, Green had 13 and Damien Wilkins added 10 in his second game since moving into the starting lineup after Brooks replaced the fired P.J. Carlesimo as coach. Earl Watson had a season-high 13 assists.

Westbrook scored 12 points, including a pair of three-point plays, as the Thunder went on a 21-6 run sparked by Wilcox's fast-break dunk one possession after they couldn't convert despite getting four offensive rebounds. Westbrook finished the spurt with six straight points, and his two-handed jam pushed the lead to 52-36.

Stoudemire got off to a fast start with seven quick points after halftime as the Suns cut their deficit in half, but Oklahoma City re-established its 16-point lead at 70-54 when Green hit both free throws after Raja Bell was called for a flagrant foul against him on a fast break.
