Lindsey Hunter

(A little relief to put that 10 game slide behind you guys?)
– “Oh, yeah, I think it was important for our guys to feel good. And we played a really good game last night, [but] unfortunately we couldn’t win it. We lost it in a very peculiar way. I’ve never lost a game like that in my life, so that was a first. But, tonight I think the guys responded really well in the back-to-back, and they’re [Mavs] a pretty good team out there fighting for a playoff spot possibly and our guys responded and played well.”

(Talk about the fact that you guys were in control most of the way; really hitting your three-pointers and getting a lot of offensive rebounds in this game…)
– “Well I thought we moved the ball really well. We shared the ball. We made the right play. Wes Johnson was phenomenal in the first half. Jared Dudley came off the bench and did a great job. P.J. [Tucker] was extraordinary tonight; I think it’s the first time he’s hit 3 threes since we’ve been here, [and] defensively he was excellent. Everybody played well that played.”

Suns Guard Jared Dudley

(On the night that he had coming off the bench)
“We try to bring a spark. I know my roll in the NBA and on this team is three-point shooting and being a smart basketball player. I usually take the shots when I’m open, and I just tried to play good defense on Mayo and Vince [Carter]. Vince got going early, but for me, it’s just knowing my roll, knowing what I’m supposed to do for the team, and I go out and try and do that every night.”

(On defending the three’s in the game tonight)
“I think we are the worst team at defending the three in the NBA. Vince got off to a huge start early on but I think it was how we defended the pick and roll. How we contained it. We stopped O.J. [Mayo] , that was one of our focal points. Dirk [Nowitzki] had a lot of wide open looks he just missed them early on even from the top of the key. I just think for the most, part us being so aggressive offensively kind of put them on their heals and that could maybe attest for why they didn’t shoot well from the three.”

Suns Forward Luis Scola

(On how the Suns would answer every time the Mavs would make a run)
“We played well. We started the game well. We got ahead and we knew how to control the game and make plays and get stops. We played a good game.”

(On if he expected the Mavs to make a run in the fourth quarter to get back into the game)
“Yes, I knew they were going to come back. They are going to fight. They are a good team and they are playing at home. We knew they were going to come back, we were able to hold it.”

Rick Carlisle

(On tonight’s game)
“It’s disappointing because it was just another opportunity lost to get back to even as far as our record. We’re just not good enough from start to finish. We didn’t win one single quarter, there was one tie. It was a decisive win for them. We played poorly. Give them their due; they played a really good game. Dragic was the best player on the floor. He shredded us from the start of the game to the end. Here’s where we are at: we’ve got four games left, and we’ve got to stay in this thing and keep battling.”

(On Phoenix’s 12-0 run after the Mavs tied the game 63-63)
“Our mindset was good coming out of halftime. We mounted a charge and we built it around good defense. But then, when they answered it, we didn’t respond well. That’s this league. This is a league full of skilled players. There’s going to be nights when guys like Tucker hit 3-4 from three and Johnson jumps up and hits a bunch of shots. To absorb that, you’ve got to have your mindset right and you’ve got to be really tied together. We just didn’t get it done.”

Mike James

“This is definitely a tough loss. You can’t give any team, regardless of the record, any confidence. They were hitting shots early and even when we went on a run they were able to maintain the lead. It’s unfortunate because we had a chance to do something good tonight and we’ve got to regroup and prepare ourselves for the next game and end this season on a good note.”

(Talk about how hard it was to stop Dragic tonight?)
“He had a good game tonight. He’s been playing well they last seven or eight games and that carried over to tonight.”

Shawn Marion

“I guess we just under estimated them tonight and they came in here and got a win. They were on a 10 game losing streak I think and they played a back to back last night and came in here and won.”

(Is this about as low as it gets?)
– “No, you know when you become a professional athlete you set standards for yourself and your team and when I go out on the floor I leave it all out there and I don’t know any other way to play other than to leave it all out on the floor. You can’t control the ball going into the hoop, but you can control your effort. When you’re not able to go out there and give it your all and give 110% than something’s wrong and maybe you need to sit down. There is no reason we should have lost this game tonight.”
