Head Coach Lindsey Hunter

(Opening statement)

“Once again, it is hard to come up here when you put that type of effort out there and you still come up short. I just want to say Michael Beasley his last two to three weeks have been off the charts, even in practices. I have been riding him pretty tough. For him to come out and have two consecutive games where he is really really good it is impressive and hopefully he can continue to do that. Goran just picked back up where he left off. He was phenomenal tonight. I think we turned it over a little too much in certain situations. For us to shoot 61 percent and still lose is mindboggling, but we had 22 turnovers in some crucial situations during the game. We got to keep working to clean those things up and try to take the little victories out of this and keep building.”

(On turnovers)

“I didn’t think it was so much of a mental lapse as much as trying to do too much at times and then getting in a situation where we are being trapped when we are not accustomed to being trapped. When you add all those things, inexperience in those areas shows itself in tight, tough situations like that. But it is good for us to go through and hopefully we can build off this and get a win the next game.”

(On losing the lead at halftime)

“That is a playoff team. They are going to come back and they are going to test us. And they did. I was proud of how we responded. We got back in the game and had opportunities to maybe the take the lead or win the game. You can’t expect a high powered team like that not to come out and respond. That is what they do.”

Goran Dragic

(On keeping a positive attitude during a tough season)

“Every player has to try to play as hard as possible. In the end everybody is going to get evaluated by the front office I think, so if you want to stay in the job you have to play for yourself but most importantly for your team. There’s still six games left so you have to play for your own pride and everything.”

Michael Beasley

(On what’s been the difference the last couple games for him)

“I just stopped listening to people. I’m doing what I know how to do. That’s really it – the more I listen to people the more I got to think about. So at times it messes me up when I’m trying to think about a thousand things at once. (I) Just stopped listening to people and just start trusting my instincts again.”

(On what was working in the first half)

“Just taking what they’re giving me. Like I said I was just being aggressive, trusting my instincts, trusting my shot. That’s pretty much it.”

(On committing 22 turnovers)

“You can’t turn the ball over, especially against a team like this. We made too many mistakes on the defensive side. I feel like two or three less mistakes we go win that game by eight points.”

Head Coach Mark Jackson

(On game)

“That’s a well-coached team that plays extremely hard and we were not prepared in the first quarter. Our defense wasn’t sharp. We were scoring but we were a step slow defensively. At the same time I’m awfully proud of my guys that we responded. There was a time where we’d have to talk about it tomorrow and make the adjustment but we talked about it at halftime and we came out and put together a picture perfect third quarter and it was a big win for us.”

(On the turning point)

“We are a defensive-minded team and we started getting stops. We started putting together multiple stops and offensively we were able to score. It was our defense that really took over the basketball game. That third quarter they scored 14 points but really 12 because the last play they scored on a layup. We raised our intensity and executed our offense.”

Stephen Curry

(On game)

“We scored 55 points in the first half so [offense] wasn’t our problem. When you give up 64 points [in the first half] you aren’t going to win many games – especially on the road. The third quarter when they only scored 12 or 14 or whatever it was that was the key.”

(On come back)

“Tonight showed the resiliency that we have built over the course of the season. We are a lot more mature team and are playing a lot better basketball, obviously, going into the last six games of the year.”

Klay Thompson

(On game)

“[The Suns] were making some good, tough shots but that’s the NBA. There are talent players everywhere. (Michael) Beasley and (Goran) Dragic really got hot tonight. We just didn’t come out and sustain enough intensity like we did in the third and fourth quarter. When we do that we are tough to beat.”

(On come back)

“We never let our head down. That was our biggest comeback of the year I think and it really showed that we can persevere. They are a talented team so that was a really big win for us.”
