Head Coach Lindsey Hunter

(On the Suns performance)

“I will always take full responsibility for my team. But in the future it won’t be a matter of practicing enough, it will be a matter of practicing until we get it right. We have a lot of things to fix, and there is only one way I know how to fix them, which is to get back in the gym and work on it.”

(On Suns defense)

“I guess we haven’t gone over it enough. I was told it takes 30 days to change habits. There will be a lot of long days until we get to where we need to be. It’s an all around situation that we have to handle.”

On subpar second quarter performance: “If I could play Goran Dragic for 48 minutes I would, but I can’t kill him that way. When he is out of the game guys are going to have to take responsibility and step up, that’s just the reality of it. But it may be a matter of me having to play him for 48 minutes and if I have to do that I will.”

Michael Beasley

(On the game)

“In the first half, it felt we had a chance to win the game. The Washington Wizards just went on a run when they began to knock down three after three after three. We can’t be too mad at that, especially on the road. We hurt ourselves the way we started the second half. That unfortunately dictated the remainder of the game.”

(On having to play from behind)

“Teams are too good. We can’t make a habit of playing from behind especially when guys are shooting really well from beyond the arc. They pretty much got what they wanted tonight. We have made routine of having to fight back from every game instead of just fight from the start of the jump ball.”

(On the game)

“It’s great to come home and play in front of my hometown crowd, but as soon as the ball goes up in the air my focus is all on the game. We as a team didn’t get the outcome we wanted to have so we have to get back in the gym, and figure out the problem so we can finish the season strong.”

(On the homecoming)

“It’s always great to be able to come back to family especially in this profession, I only get to see them about three or four times out of the year. My little sisters, one who is in Spain right now enjoying her spring break. The other one I was fortunate enough to see; it’s just really special.”

Head Coach Randy Wittman

(On the game tonight)

“Well this was a good way to finish up this four (games) in five (nights) for us. I thought we went out and took care of business right from the start. This is a tough team to play against because they have a lot of guys that can score points and score them quickly. Sometimes you can get caught up in that type of game and lose sight of the way you want to play. We had 30 assists and John (Wall) has done a terrific job with our pace the last week to 10 days. When we play at that pace, offensively, we’re hard to defend.”

(On Martell Webster’s play)

“Martell had one of those nights where he could’ve thrown it off the roof and it would’ve gone in tonight. Martell got 10 (three point attempts) tonight and a lot of them were because of our pace. It really is one of those unbelievable feelings. It’s one of those feelings where you going like, ‘Wow, what’s going on here?’ I have been in that position before, having that feeling, so I drew up every play I could for him because you want to take advantage of that feeling, but he’s been playing solid. He’s been really, really solid for us. All those technical free throws must have got him going I think.”

(On Bradley Beal playing)

“We wanted to limit him to around 20 (minutes) just to see how he’ll react tomorrow. You always kind of do that in a situation where we haven’t had practice time; that’s been the main thing. Everything he’s done has been individually with the trainer or with the coaches; nothing with game situations just because we haven’t had any practice time. It’s different, so the first night I didn’t want to play him like normal and throw a bunch of minutes at him. Because if he’s got some soreness tomorrow then we have to think about sitting him another day. That’s all dictated tomorrow when he comes in.”

Bradley Beal

(On Martell Webster)

“He’s terrific. Just the way he shoots the ball. He brings other things to the table as well. He’s just so smart and he’s a leader at that, too. Whenever he’s playing well we feed off his energy. He’s a very energetic player. And a passionate player.”

(On John Wall)

“He’s getting better and better. And his jumper is coming along for sure. He’s even hitting threes, too. So he’s put it all together. He’s going to be very hard to stop soon. He’s just terrific. He has guys around him who are able to make shots as well and create plays just as well as he can. And with him and the things he’s capable of doing, it just makes everyone so much better.”

Martell Webster

(On the game)

“My teammates kept finding me. I definitely tip my hat to my teammates. They were encouraging me to keep shooting the ball. When you have that backing, it’s easy to shoot. You could put anybody in my position and they’d knock down those shots. Fortunately it was me tonight, but it was a great team win and it was fun to be out there playing with these guys.”
