Head Coach Lindsey Hunter

(Opening statement)

“I just want to give those guys (the Thunder) a lot of credit. They have a really high level team and we knew that. We expected that. It’s a great learning process for all of us by showing us where we want to be, where we strive to be, and where we will be. We just have to continue to have reality checks with ourselves as coaches and as players, and challenge ourselves to get better.”

(On using this game as a teaching tool)

“This is no reason to hang our heads. They have played in the Finals and they know what it’s like, and a lot of our guys don’t. This will be a positive teaching tool for us. It’s something to learn from and something to never forget. I always remembered when situations like this would happen, having the experience of being on an elite team. I always wondered what the other locker room was like. I always wondered what the other guys were thinking. When I got there I remembered these times and I never forgot them. And consequently when you’ve got the chance to be on the other side you embraced it, you enjoyed it, and you tried to make it last as long as possible.”

Michael Beasley

(On finding his rhythm)

“I was just trying to do what I had to do to keep us in the game. We just gave them too much of everything; fast-break points, points in the paint, open 3’s and just giving them what they want.”

(On if this loss was worse than normal)

“Every loss is disheartening, but by that many points, that embarrassing…that adds a little more. That’s where we want to be in the near future.”

Goran Dragic

(On the game)

“We turned the ball over and just fell apart as a team on defense and on offense. They were crashing and denying the pass and scored some easy baskets and then our confidence went down. They’re a great team. They had an answer for everything and it was very tough for us.”

(On what he can take away from the game)

“We should try to play hard as possible every night. The first two quarters were great for us and we just couldn’t do it.”

Head Coach Scott Brooks

(Opening statement)

“Offensively, it goes without saying much, but we were clicking on all cylinders. Offensively we were making shots, we were probably one of our best passing games of the year. Low turnovers. I thought everybody had opportunities. Balanced scoring. Perk (Perkins) — he had just a great shooting night. I’ve said many times before, we don’t judge Perk on his points, we judge Perk on his activity and his leadership and his ability to anchor the defense. He made a couple of jump shots, he made a runner, but he’s been making that the last couple three or four weeks. It was a balanced scoring attack. Everybody participated.”

(On Perkins over the past few weeks)

“Perk works everyday, guys. He anchors our defense and he takes pride in it. There’s no question that everybody feels good that they get opportunities to score but he doesn’t go home thinking he had a bad game if he only scored four or five points. We don’t allow him to think that way. He’s one of our emotional leaders. Like I said, defensively he guards usually the best post player on their team but he’s been making his shots. His free throws - he feels pretty confident when he steps up there. He’s been finishing around the basket, but he works on it every day.”

Russell Westbrook

(On the defense in the second half)

“We were just more aggressive. I think in the first half we just kind of just let them move around and do what they want, and we were just more aggressive.”

(On Kendrick Perkins’ offensive game play)

“He’s great. He’s a great guy and he has confidence. That’s what we need is for everybody to be confident. Not many guys had double digits tonight, but I think it was a lot and that it was great.”

Kendrick Perkins

(On the defense in the third quarter

“Well I think it’s the first game that Scott got on us at halftime about our effort. It was our first time watching film in a long time, and he got on us about our effort in the defensive end. He told us it’s not a pick-up game, and we have to go out there and defend. That’s what we went out there and did.”

(On his own game play tonight)

“I’m just going to keep working. Guys are doubling Kevin and Russ (Westbrook) now, so I’m just trying to find the open spot. I’ve been watching a lot of film and going to the gym and working on my game. I’m just trying to find an open spot when they get doubled.”
