Head Coach Lindsey Hunter

(On the Loss)

"Tonight they beat us in every statistical category, and we can’t possibly manage to win games that way. They capitalized on all of our mistakes. They played with a great sense of urgency, and I think – it’s been a long road for us and we’ve played a lot of games – we kind of felt sorry for ourselves. But, we as a staff have to prepare our guys a little better for the zone. That hurt us. So, we’ll get back to work, and make sure we’re better prepared next time, and make sure we’re a better team on our next showing.”

(On the Suns' Second-Half Run)

“[I liked] the fact that we did it with defense. We got stops, and we got out and got some easy baskets. Anytime you can get stops and score in transition it takes a lot of pressure off your offense, and we did that. When they were able score and get set in the zone it really gave us trouble.”

Marcin Gortat

(On What Could've Been Done Differently)

“We’ve got to play better defense and I hope that we bring more energy. That was our fourth game in five nights. We all were pretty tired today and sore. Hopefully for the next game we are more ready to play. We didn’t actually show up to play. Terrible first half. We can’t have so many turnovers. We can’t have so many missed rotations and we’ve just got to play better.”

(On cutting the Mavs' Lead)

“We had a few defensive stops in the third and fourth quarters and we executed better. But still, it was just a few minutes where we played well basically we just didn’t have the energy that we usually have. It was tough.”

Luis Scola

(On Tonight's Game)

“I just thought we played a bad game. It’s hard to see a problem. We play four games, and three of them are good. We just didn’t have it today. They just played better than us.”

(On What Can be Taken from the Game)

“I don’t know. I just think it’s one game. We’ll see next game if this (game) is an exception or if we’re just making mistakes. We’ll see. We made some changes and since we’ve made those, we’ve been having good games. This is the first bad game. For now, it’s just a bad game.”

Head Coach Rick Carlisle

(On Shawn Marion's 1,000th Game)

“He played extremely well. He stepped up his game tonight and I thought he was very aggressive from start to finish; a lot of big rebounds in traffic. When he’s on the floor at forward, Dirk [Nowitzki] is off the floor. Those are big minutes for us because that’s just the time of the game that’s very critical. He’s been holding the fort really since Dirk’s been back in those stretches and did a really good job again tonight.”

(On starting Bernard James)

“He’s energetic and he goes hard. The biggest thing we need right now is energy. We need any kind of injection of it we can get. He’s one of those guys where you put him in there and you know what he can do.”

Dirk Nowitzki

(On Any Worry During Suns' Run)

“Yes, especially when we know they are going to keep playing hard and keep competing. They have a new coach and he’s going to push those guys. Plus, they have players that never quit so we knew it was going to get tight. I shot that three that was a little bit of a heat check and was about 40 feet but I had my mind made up that I was going to shoot that one, it was just a little deeper than I had hoped.”

(On How He is Feeling Now)

“I’m starting to feel better. I have a little more pop on my jump shot, I have a little more lift. I’m looking forward to continuing to work but this was a great effort. Honestly, this was as close to a must-win as we have in the regular season. We have a tough road trip coming up against some of those teams we are competing against for the eighth spot. We really needed this home win, get a good practice in tomorrow, take a long flight, then we have a tough game in Portland.”
