Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On Struggling to Score)

"We really could never get anything going. We got bogged down offensively and struggled to make shots. Had some tough turnovers and never really got any kind of rhythm. We were partly responsible for that, but they did a great job defensively also. I really do not think it has anything to do with the last game or the next game or anything like that. It was just a night where they did a good job defensively and we didn’t shot the ball well offensively."

(On Wesley Johnson's Increased Minutes)

"Well I thought he did a good job. He made a couple of shots for us. You know it is the first time that he as played guys. So we just figured that we should give him an opportunity to see what he can do. I thought he was pretty good defensively. I thought he did a good job on Rudy when he was in there and he made a couple of shots for us. So we will use him and see if he can help us out."

PJ Tucker

(On Not Being Able to Put Together a Run)

"We missed some tough baskets at the end. Especially in the fourth, we missed some baskets – even when we were getting stops we struggled to score so like I said we have to find a way to get the mixture together: get stops and score the basket at the same time. We couldn’t score early in the game but our defense kept us in it. So I think at the same time we need to finish games out with defense and offense."

Wesley Johnson

(On Difficulty of Playing Without Consistent Minutes)

"You just try not to think about it as much. It is frustrating, a little bit, but you can’t really do anything about it – just go out there and be prepared. You’ve got to be a professional about it, you know. If you get your number called go out there and play."

Head Coach Lionel Hollins

(On the Win)

"It was a solid win. We came out and we just played. We had a couple of stretches where we turned the ball over and didn’t get shots. Then we had some breakdowns in the fourth quarter giving up some buckets but overall we held them to 81 points and we kept scoring, we kept playing. We just have to stay focused for 48 minutes to do it. It’s a tough league, we’re in a tough conference and every night you’ve got to be focused and play the same way. We got some open shots and made them. Zach got going in the post and so we had a few options to run with. We completed some fast breaks as well."

Rudy Gay

(On Slowing Down the Suns)

"We made a couple turnovers in the fourth, but for the most part we played a pretty balanced game. Our offense seemed pretty good, we were moving the ball. It was a lot easier for us. We just wanted to kick it in defensively and if their main guys get stopped, we get a win. Those guys don’t score, most times they lose. It feels good to get this one out of the way, especially since we have another one tomorrow and have to travel and everything so we had to take care of business here."

Zach Randolph

(On the Win and a Slow Second Half)

"It was a good game for us, from both ends. We played defense and we got off to a good start and we came out in the second half and we didn’t’ drop down or let them play up. We got stops and everybody chipped in; Rudy and Mike and Marc. It was a good team win. We’ve got to get better in the second half period. At halftime, coming out, we kind of slack off a little bit. We’ll get better; we’ve just got to keep pushing. We’ve got to get ready for tomorrow. It’s going to be a tough game and we’ve got to come out with the same focus we had tonight."
