Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(Opening statement)
“I told Markieff that BIG 12 stuff runs deep. I think it is the first time he has ever been booed at home when he has checked into a game. But there was a lot of purple K-State sweatshirts out there. For us it was an obviously much much much needed win and I thought we did a good job defensively on (Jrue) he ends up with a triple-double. I thought we did a good job for the most part on Jrue Holiday. You know he torched us up there the first time we played and I thought that we did a good job controlling him and making him shoot contested shots. The guy ends up with a triple-double and you say we did a good job on him. I think that is just the testament to the quality of the player that he is. I just thought overall that we did a good job rebounding the basketball. I thought we did a good job offensively of moving the basketball. At some times certain guys came in and I thought Shannon helped us. Obviously I thought that PJ did a great job for us coming up with a few loose balls here and there. Scola continues to be pretty consistent shooting the ball and what we are trying to get done. And then I think the guy that is playing really well for us right now is Marcin Gortat. I think he is doing a really good job rebounding the basketball. I think he is doing a good job of finishing around the basket. Obviously we would like to see if we can get him a few more shots, but for the most part he is doing a good job defensively and rebounding. If you look at tonight I think you just have to say it was a total team effort.”

(On team rebounding)
“Well you know, we have talked about that. Our perimeter guys, you know we are not a great rebounding team and so we have to do it by committee. So we talked to our perimeter guys about when the ball goes up there we cant worry about leaking out and trying to get an easy basket. We have to have possession of the basketball and we are still we think good enough to get in the open court and run and create some easy baskets. But we have tendency to leak out and what happened is they end up with an offensive rebound and hitting a guy for a three pointer or getting an easy basket back. We just have to become real conscious of staying in and having our perimeters helping on the board.”

Suns Forward Goran Dragic

(On how the lineup changes affect him)
“I know all the teammates. So you know, I think with P.J. Tucker we get a lot of good defending and aggression. He’s very aggressive on defense and he makes some problems for the opposing team’s offense. Some games he will start, some games it’s somebody else, it just depends on who we play. SB was huge from the bench and we need those bench points also. We need everybody.”

Suns Forward Luis Scola

(On closing out a close game)
“We let them go all the way down to two but we still closed the game. From that moment on we made a four to five point run to close the game and we won it – and that’s a little different. We usually struggle when they get that close and we found a way to close the game tonight.”

(On being in a better rhythm offensively)
“I feel like I’m in a better rhythm. I’m playing with more confidence and I know my teammates better. It took me a little time but I’m happy with the way things are going now. I just need to keep it going, you know, it’s just a couple games. There’s one thing you learn in the NBA: things change so quickly that you can never get relaxed, you need to find a way to keep doing what you’re doing – keep playing well and there’s another game coming so we need to forget about this game in a minute. Tomorrow, nobody will remember. So hopefully I can continue to play well and next game we can get another win and start building something from there.”

Sixers Head Coach Doug Collins

(On Tonight’s Game)
“We were playing uphill, played a very fatigued game, which is disappointing, and hung around and still had a chance to win the game. The inconsistency just comes back to haunt us every night.”

(On Jrue Holiday’s turnovers)
“I thought he came back and he was really trying to force some things. He was trying to force some passes. I just said, ‘Let’s just read what’s there.’”

(On comeback after falling behind 11 points)
“I thought that once the third quarter started and they got a little bit of a lead, we looked up and we had a chance, but we never came up with a big rebound, or…it was disappointing. I know Alvin (Gentry) and those guys needed this game tonight. They had lost six in a row. That’s my great friend. I love him (Alvin) like a brother and stuff like that. It was just disappointing for us to be out on the road and have a chance to maybe get a game like that, and they were a little bit more physical than us. (Luis) Scola was great as he has been shooting that ball. He was great. Shannon Brown hit some shots and it was disappointing.”

Sixers Forward Dorell Wright

(On Tonight’s Game)
“When the game comes down to crunch time you have to take care of the ball, you have to make the right play and you have to get stops. We didn’t do that and they capitalized on it, they hit shots, they made their free throws at the end and we just came up short.”

(On bench play)
“They had their starters in and we just try to do whatever we can to capitalize and take the lead. We had a little lead, we gave it back and it’s like they kept that little cushion. We just have to do a better job of getting stops and taking care of the ball. “

Sixers Guard Jrue Holiday

(On Tonight’s Game)
“I think we jumped out on them. I guess I do agree. We didn’t really have the intensity. We came out with a definite offensive mind and they just battled back and battled back.”
