|Head Coach Alvin Gentry|
(On the Offense)
"We have to get better offensively, we’re struggling to get easy baskets. It’s a long season, we have 78 games left and I don’t see any reason to hit a panic button or anything. We just have to continue to work, and to me the whole thing we need to concentrate on is coming together as a team as a common goal. If we continue to do that, then we’ll compete and still be a team that will be in the game."
(On the Heat)
"They’re a great team. There is a reason they have a ring, and I think they are a much better team this year than they were last year. When you add Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to the mix, two guys that are spacious, obviously keeps the pressure on you to try to guard LeBron James or Dwyane Wade. I don’t know what to tell you; they’re a great team."
(On the Loss)
"We dug ourselves into a deep hole and we couldn’t climb out of it. For us though, we just have to come out, execute our game plan and be more efficient on both ends of the court. It’s too early to get down on ourselves. We definitely have to go out and compete every night. In practice we have to continue to get better. We have to stick together."
(On the Heat's Unselfish Play)
"That was probably the most unselfish team I’ve ever played against since I’ve been in the NBA. It was drive, kick, swing, penetrate, flair, I mean they were hitting everyone. Even when someone had a good shot, they would make an extra pass to someone who even had a better shot. That’s the way basketball is supposed to be played. They perfected it to a ‘T’ tonight."
|Head Coach Erik Spoelstra|
(On the Game)
"It was good to see two numbers: the sub forty percent field goal percentage of the Phoenix Suns and winning the rebound battle. I will take those two things. Everything else is just a cherry on top. Overall it was a good game."
(On Dwyane Wade)
"Dwyane Wade was active tonight. He set the tone with this quick twitch on both ends of the court. He had some good lift, but he is spending a lot of time to put his body in position to respond. There is a lot of depth on this team and Dwyane Wade gets it. He might not have nights where he has to score thirty five or forty points plus, but with the opportunities that he has, he can generate a lot of easy opportunities for us."
(On Team Defense)
"It was just about trying to make a better effort (on defense). We’re not last year’s team. We’re trying to find our own identity. We have work to do. We did a better job tonight."
(On Scoring 23,000 Points)
"It always is a verification of everything I’ve ever done in my career. My focus has never been individual-oriented. If you play great team basketball, you look up and you’re one of those guys that is in the top something in the NBA."
