Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On the game and Steve Nash)

"We lost our focus a little bit, but I liked the way we recovered, especially the way we closed out. I thought we were good defensively and I thought we closed out offensively as well. With Steve (Nash) being off for a few days, he feels a lot better. When his back is giving him trouble it’s hard for him to plant and shoot, but even when he’s struggling with his shooting, he can pick it up with getting assists. He can control a game without his scoring, and he’s feeling a lot better tonight."

(On DeMarcus Cousins)

"I'm not surprised about the play of DeMarcus. You can talk about Dwight Howard, (Andrew) Bynum and a couple of other centers, but he’s as good of a big guy that I've seen in a while. He’s very talented and he has a great feel for the game. He has a great touch on his jump shot and he plays hard every night."

Suns center Marcin Gortat

(On the game and DeMarcus Cousins)

"It was definitely a tough game for us tonight. DeMarcus (Cousins) had a great game for them. He’s a good player and we battled it out a lot. He has a great outside shot. We have to play harder and smarter as a team. One guy can go for 20 or 25 points, but we can’t let guys go for 41 points."

Kings Head Coach Keith Smart

(On the Suns' pick-and-roll)

"They’re a hard team and they’re missing Grant Hill. They’re a hard team because Nash is a master at putting certain guys in the pick-and-roll. I thought the coverage that we had earlier in the game was able to work for us where we put some other guys – normal people that he would put into the pick-and-roll, we changed that and had two other guys when the ball was in action and that really helped. I think it really took them out of some things that they wanted to do – didn’t have that open roll guy to the paint that they normally have."

(On the game)

"I thought our guys did a really good job. I thought we played, we managed to get ourselves back in the game from a 17-point deficit and I thought our guys did a great job. They could’ve rolled over and said we won’t catch up but I thought they did a good job, held their composure, chipped away the score, got back into the game and two blown coverages at a critical moment got them down to four points."

Kings center DeMarcus Cousins

(On the final stretch)

"Broke down again, we kind of took some steps back tonight. I mean we just have to make plays down the stretch and finish games out strong. Once again it’s the last couple of minutes that’s killing us at the end of the game and the results are losses."

(On the loss)

"It is frustrating but I believe in this team. I believe in this organization. It’s going to turnaround. I believe we have the right pieces, we just have to get it together, mesh and then it’s going to turnaround."
