Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On the game)

"We got off to a great start, obviously that helped matters, but I thought we played well for 48 minutes. There was a time at the end of the first quarter where we kind of gave up some easy baskets, but I thought for the most part, we played 48 minutes."

(On Kyrie Irving)

"We did a good job on Kyrie (Irving). The guy ends up with 16 (points), six (rebounds) and four assists and we talk about what a good job we did on him. That’s a testament to the kind of player that he is because that is doing a good job on him. I thought we kept him out of the paint for the most part. That kid is a great player. He’s got a really, really, really bright future ahead of him."

Suns Guard Steve Nash

(On the win)

"We owed it to ourselves to have a better performance. (Cleveland) got us at home. We’ve clawed back into the playoff picture and we had to try and get one here."

(On how teams are defending the Suns)

"I think the goal is for our team to be able to read and react to how people play. Some nights if they’re making me a scorer, I have to be aggressive and score. Other nights when they’re trying to get the ball out of my hands, we have to make them pay other ways."

Suns Center Marcin Gortat

(On his game)

"It was just one of those games where I started out really well. Coach (Alvin Gentry) gave me opportunities in the beginning and I have to tell you, this thing is working. If I get involved in the first quarter, then I’m more productive throughout the entire game. My teammates found me and gave me a couple good, open looks and they passed the ball well. The only thing I had to do was finish around the basket."

(On the Suns' pick and roll play)

"First of all, I think we’re setting good screens. Having such a great point guard like Steve Nash coming off of screens and creating opportunities for everybody is obviously making us look better. (Cleveland) was showing hard (on pick and rolls). The bigs were jumping out really high and hard and we were just open. We rolled quickly and hard to the basket and got open."

Cavaliers Head Coach Byron Scott

(On the game)

"We are just not a very good team right now. That’s the bottom line. You have to give Phoenix a lot of credit. We know what they’re fighting for over there in the West. They came out and played extremely well and executed on both ends of the floor. It was just like we were almost sleepwalking a little bit. We’re just not a very good team right now."

(On Marcin Gortat)

"He ate us alive. I don’t know if Tristan knows that much about him or if he didn’t realize that the guy is a pretty good player. Gortat has been playing well all season long. I think, tonight, he just had his way."

Cavaliers Guard Kyrie Irving

(On the Suns’ quick start)

"We wanted to start off the game really strong, but our communication wasn’t there. What we talked about in practice and all the things we went over weren’t applied in the game. It was tough."

(On playing Steve Nash)

"He’s just so effective on the offensive end. At times you think he’s a scorer and he’ll just find the open man. He’s one of the best for a reason and he’s done it year after year."
