Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On the Suns' recent woes)

"Last night we played good, we just didn’t finish the game. Tonight we got off to a little bit of a rough start. Obviously we knew there was going to be a reaction when they scored 59 points against Chicago. We turned the ball over again too much, gave up too many easy baskets, and then we have to complete plays. We’ve still got to be able to execute. And we’ve got to be able to jump up and make shots. We didn’t do that tonight. We dug a hole for ourselves. We were always playing from behind."

(On Nash and Gortat's performance)

"The starters didn’t play very good. I thought J.D. (Jared Dudley) got off to a good start. But then we swing the ball and have open shots, I think we have to take those shots. For some reason we started trying to drive the basketball and pump faking. We’ve got to take what’s available to us. Tough game for us in that we got behind and played from behind most of the game. But as I said, if there was any positive in the game it was Sebastian (Telfair) and the second group. Robin (Lopez), and Shannon Brown, and even Ronnie Price when he came in, he changed the game some. Markieff (Morris) had some good moments, but he still has a ways to go, to understand, especially with rotations, and then closing out to a guy that made seven 3s."

Marcin Gortat

(On playing Dwight Howard)

"You can’t make him (Howard) mad. He is always fooling around and is full of energy. He is having fun out there. He had a good game. I have seen him in wars, bad moods, and more of an attacking mode than today. He had a good game and was himself. I probably gave him too much respect again. I should have attacked him a little bit stronger. Now it is over and the game is over... He is just way more skilled now. He is patient with everything that he does. He is reading the defense better. He has definitely improved his game and there is not much else you can say."

(On returning to Orlando)

"I grew up here as a player and I appreciate the whole organization and the whole team for everything that they did for me. Obviously Coach Stan gave me the right knowledge and Coach Malone sacrificed four years of teaching me and working with me. It was a great experience and now I am with a different team and am looking forward. I want to play well here and become a better player."

Suns Guard Jared Dudley

(On the last two games)

"They (Heat and Magic) are two elite teams. With Miami, we had them up by 10…D-Wade and Lebron had to take over a little bit more in the fourth and getting to the free throw line. We couldn’t score. Anytime you play in Miami and then you have Orlando on a back-to-back, and you are playing them after one of their worst games of the season where they score only 59 points…well Dwight Howard set the tone…and Ryan Anderson basically had shooting practice today."

(On his performance)

"I was trying to be aggressive coming out early. I hit a lot of shots and we were going to pick and roll after than to get everybody involved. On this team if just one guy scores you are not going to win. We tried to get Channing and Gortat going. It is tough when you have Dwight the best defensive player clogging it up for Gortat."

Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy

(On the game)

"Dwight played extremely well and I thought we defended Marcin’s offense very, very well and that was more of a team thing because Marc(in)’s game is pick and rolls with Nash and we made a real concerted effort to take that roll to the rim away. I thought we did that as well as it can possibly be done. When I looked at halftime and Marc(in) didn’t have a point and Steve Nash only had two assists; I was really happy with that. Obviously we gave up some other stuff. We gave Nash some of his runners and pull ups at times but we limited their threes and we took away the roll to the rim and I thought for three quarters we made a really concerted defensive effort."

(On Glen Davis' improved play)

"Tonight he was very good. I got on him once. I thought he took one terrible shot and he knew it but he made some great passes. I thought he played with very, very good effort. It was good. I think he’s playing a lot better. I think tonight was one of his best games of the year; (he) both made some shots and rebounded the ball."

Glen Davis

(On the game)

"It’s been a long time coming to feel like that in a game where I feel like I’m doing something right for a change. My teammates did a great job of finding me when I was open. We did a good job on the offensive side; defensively I think we need to be better."

(On his play going forward)

"I just have to take one game at a time and understand that every game can’t be like today. Keep my composure, sometimes things don’t work out, sometimes I take myself out of the game when I feel like I’m open or something. (I need to) just keep playing the game like it’s supposed to be played and don’t worry about what happens, just go out there and play hard. That’s what I’m trying to do."

Ryan Anderson

(On the game)

"Tonight was a night where we could move the ball and set some screens and really just be more active. I think that’s something we need to do more often. We just need to come out and engage, have a ton of energy, and when we do that, a bunch of guys get open shots and scoring was pretty evenly distributed. It was because of our energy."

(On Glen Davis's play)

"Obviously it takes time in general just to get used to a system. For me, it took a while to get used to Stan’s system here. For Glen, you obviously add all that other stuff and I’m just happy that he’s having a good time, he’s playing hard, doing the things that he knows he can do and he’s doing them well. He had a great game tonight and I’m sure happy for him. I hope this is something that sparks in him because this is how he can play and we know that."
