Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On the outcome of the game)

"I don’t take anything out of it but a loss. We have to win, and when we put ourselves in a position to win a game, we can’t let it slip away. You have to give them some credit. They made the plays down the stretch. The biggest disappointment is that we did come up with stops, but they got the ball back on offensive rebounds. That can’t happen."

(On the Suns' strong bench play)

"I thought they all played great. Sebastian Telfair, Shannon Brown, Markieff Morris, and Robin Lopez all played well. Michael Redd did a good job for us as well. They were the ones that got us a lead and put us in a position to win the game. We just needed to finish the game."

Suns Forward Grant Hill

(On the game)

"We need to not get discouraged. We’re playing good basketball. We need to understand that when you’re on the road, you’re up, and you’re nursing a lead, then you have to get stops. You have to get rebounds. You have to play with a sense of desperation. They were the ones that got desperate down the stretch, and they got the win. There were a lot of good things that we did tonight. We played well enough to win. We just have to do a better job in the last five to six minutes."

(On what changed the game)

"They started to figure it out and make adjustments. Their offense sort of fueled their defense. We did a good job and made the initial stops. We didn’t secure the rebounds three possessions in a row and they scored. They started getting momentum and then the crowd got into it. Then we fouled at the wrong times. The beautiful thing is that we have a game tomorrow. Hopefully, we’ll feel better about ourselves this time tomorrow night. We’re going to bounce back. This loss won’t linger."

Shannon Brown

(On what decided the game)

"We still had chance after chance. We still had good looks at the basket. We still executed like we were suppose to. You got to give them credit for making plays. We didn’t make plays. They made all the plays and we didn’t make any down the stretch."

(On the Suns' mentality going forward)

"Consistency is the word we try to use. We’re getting too deep into the season. Every game counts for us. We’re trying to make it to the playoffs. Consistency from the bench, consistency from the starters, consistency just all around and executing our game plan is what it’s going to take for us to win."

Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra

(On the game)

"There will be fifty or sixty picks throughout the game against Phoenix. You are always going to see that with them. We know that down ten points we don’t panic and stay the course and keep our minds in it. We can make two or three plays defensively and keep our poise to grind our way back in it. We do not want to fall prey to a light switch, that’s a dangerous thing to get in. It’s always got to be on with a code red. In the first half we had a lack of concentration and efficiency, as well as a focus offensively. We had nine turnovers that fueled their confidence."

LeBron James

(On the game)

"Tonight’s positive was that no matter what was going on in the game we still found a way to win. The negative was that we were down and we were not playing the way we are capable of playing. We cleaned up the turnover issue in the second half, but we continued to let them get in their plays and get their own shots until we made a run."

(On the hard collision in the 4th quarter)

"I have not had one of those hits since I had on pads and a helmet."

Dwyane Wade

(On the end of the game)

"It was either now or never at that point. They were playing very well at that time, hitting some shots, penetrating, kicking it out to the three point shooters and they made some shots. We had had to make a move and for us it started defensively, we got some stops, got a chance to get out, get to the free throw line and get some buckets in the paint."
