Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

“Defensively we have to get back to what we were doing, that is just way too many points in the paint. Don’t get me wrong we love the win, but for us we have to get back to doing a better job controlling the paint more and we had too many points off of turnovers. We had three guys with 20 or more and all the starters in double figures and that’s great and fine, but we are just going to have to zero in and get a little better defensively. The last two games have been a little alarming. We’ve played really well offensively. I just think we are going to have to turn it up again defensively.”

(On Dudley play involvement): “I’ve got to do a better job of getting him better shots early on. We didn’t get him a shot until he came back in the second time. I have to do a better job of making sure that that doesn’t happen. That’s on me right there. I’ve got to make some plays where he can get involved in the offense.”

Suns power forward Channing Frye

(On finding his rhythm): “You know what, there were a lot of shots that I missed, but I’m just trying to shoot the shots I usually shoot and just try and play the game the right way. You know, when you’ve got two or three guys (scoring) in the twenties, I think it’s just a sign of Steve (Nash) diming that thing and we’re playing very unselfish. Without (Marcin Gortat) rolling I wouldn’t get no shots.”

(On turning defense into offense): “We’re a fast break team, so we like to get out and fast break. Whether it’s me, (Marcin Gortat), Robin (Lopez), anybody – if we’re getting blocks that means we’re getting out and running and causing problems. So if we can do that defensively, we’ll take it anyway we can – steals, blocks, deflections whatever it takes.”

Suns center Marcin Gortat

(On rebounding from the last game): “It was huge, it was huge. I definitely wanted to forget about last game and I definitely tried to play. I was trying to come out and be aggressive from the first minute, try to get some post ups and obviously try to bring a lot of energy. I know the team needs that and that was my first goal for this game.”

(On the back-to-back-to-back): “We’re going to obviously try to take a rest as much as possible, sleep well, eat a lot and try to get different treatments: cold tubs, hot tubs, steam rooms and all different massages just to make sure that we are going to be ready. Besides maybe two, three guys on the team we are kind of a young team so we should be fine.”

Jazz Head Coach Tyrone Corbin

(On final minutes of game): “We couldn’t get over the hump. We got right there. They got an offensive rebound, we tipped it out of bounds, and they got a second chance. We had a couple opportunities to get the possession but just couldn’t get it which gave them another opportunity. If we get that rebound and possession of the ball then we would have had a better chance of winning. They played hard. We didn’t get the break we needed but we have another one tomorrow.”

(On road loss): “It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating to not get the one or two plays that you’re looking for, but it’s encouraging that the guys continued to fight. We got down ten points and fought our way back in it and had a chance there to win it at the end. You got to give them (Suns) credit. (Steve) Nash made some plays for them and they won the game.”

Jazz forward Paul Millsap

(On a jump shooting power forward): “It’s tough because they spread you out. They have four guys on the wing, and if not then (Marcin) Gortat is driving down the lane, you got to pick and choose your timing and see who you want to let get off at the time.”

(On road loss): “It’s frustrating but you have to let it go. We got to continue to grow as a team and continue to get better and at times thing will change for us.”

Jazz center Al Jefferson

(On Steve Nash): “Yeah man Steve Nash, gosh. Sometimes I feel like its 5-on-3 out there the way he penetrates into the lane. It just seems like he always finds somebody wide open. I think the older he gets the better he gets.”
