Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(Opening statement)

"We played with really good effort and after the first quarter we took care of the offensive rebound but, we still didn't secure the ball. During that stretch I thought that Darren Williams just took over the game. He's one of the great players in this league so sometimes that's going to happen. I thought we did a good job the guys that filled in. We couldn't come up with those three or four plays that could get us over the hump. It was one of the better offensive games we’ve had this year."

(On New Jersey’s run in 3rd/4th quarters)

"We tried to get back out to them but what happened when they are running screen and rolls you can't just leave a guy rolling to the basket completely open so we have to adjust our defense and get there and try to get back out and recover. You have to give them credit they jumped up and shot them in."

Channing Frye

(On the loss)

"I thought the effort was there, a couple of guys got hot on there team, but on our side we can’t get depressed. We can't get too down on ourselves. I think losing sucks. I don't think we got losers on this team, but these ups and downs happen during a season, so it's going to make us a better team and we just really understand how important it is to win at home, especially with the crowds that we've had. We need to take advantage of those. But, tip your hat off to New Jersey. They played a hard game and man they shot the skin off the ball."

(On defense)

"I think that's just again, part of our learning process. We need to adjust quicker, and I think it's just learning who is going to do what and who is going to go. And I think it's still learning, but we're getting better and playing these different teams with different personnel, it's challenging. But I've got a lot of confidence in the guys in this locker room and don’t give up on us yet. We're going to keep working.”

Ronnie Price

(On New Jersey’s three-point shooting)

"Yeah, I mean they surrounded there team with a bunch of shooters so Deron (Williams) can operate and find guys, so it makes it hard to help. You know, you've got a great point guard in Deron Williams and he draws a lot of attention when he gets in the middle of the lane, and he forces guys to help. And they did a good job surrounding there team, surrounding him with shooters and you've got to give credit to them. Deron knocked down threes as well, so you know they had it going tonight."

(On the upcoming road trip)

"We've got to get some wins. This is a good opportunity for us to grow and actually show some type of bounce back on this road trip. I felt like we didn't take care of home court the way we should, and now we've got to go get some wins on somebody else's floor."

Avery Johnson

(Opening Statement)

"Big win for us. Outstanding effort by our team and they played with a lot of energy tonight. Daron (Williams) was just super tonight on both ends of the floor. He scored, passed it, but also when we needed stops, we put him on the guy on their perimeter that was hurting us the most. We switched him on Dudley(Jared) he played well. We needed him on Price (Ronnie), Telfair (Sebastian), he played well. We put him on Shannon Brown, but good team effort; especially on a night where Sean Williams goes out with an injury."

(On starters in double figures and crack the 100 pt mark)

"Ya, Jessica, on this road trip our offense has been pretty good. There were certain stretches this year we didn't know we would score 110/115 points in two games. So for us to be scoring like this, our spacing is so much better. After our talk little in Denver, offensively some of the points we were trying to drive home, they got it. We're still not there defensively, but again we only allowed 21 points in the fourth quarter, and that was good for us."

Anthony Morrow

(On scoring as a team)

“Our spacing was great. Everybody was where they were supposed to be and that makes it easier on Daren. He’s going to make the right play, and ten times out of ten he’s going to score or get an open shot for somebody else and that takes a lot of pressure off of our defense.”

(On Deron’s play)

“I told him he was due for a game like this. He was worried about his shots. I told him that he’s going to have a 35/40 point game soon and everything is going to click. This was a huge game for him. He knew it was in him and we knew it was in him. It was just a matter of time.”

MarShon Brooks

(On defensive play)

"Ya, it's just my focus on the defensive end. Sometimes I get caught sleeping, looking at the ball and my man back door cuts. He'll come off a screen and I end up getting screened. Sometimes they don't score but sometimes they do. Just my focus on defense we talked about and we just watched the film and the only problem is not get caught looking at the ball."
