Head Coach Alvin Gentry

“We didn’t play well at all. I think we make progress defensively and then we take steps backwards. When we struggle with our shot, we have to be able to guard guys defensively so there is not that separation. We didn’t do that. The end result is an embarrassing loss.”

(On moving forward)

“We will have to line it up, we’ll have to get out and we’ll have to try to do a hell of a lot better than we did tonight. That’s the bottom line…as I said, I’ve got to do a better job, the players have to do a better job, we all have to do a better job.”

Channing Frye

“We can’t quit, and that’s not in our blood. I don’t think anyone here just wants to give up or get negative on us. We just got to come back tomorrow and just get to work and continue to press and figure it out. There have been worse teams in worse situations, so we’re not going to give up and we just understand that we can’t allow teams like this to get off to great starts at the beginning and we just got to take something away.”

(On what the team needs to do)

“I think right now we just have to not look at who we are playing or what we’re doing and just go back to the drawing board. We got to really just find out what works and just try to stick with that and everybody just has to do what they can do to make our team better.”

Steve Nash

“We weren’t particularly sharp, but we didn’t make shots and they made a lot of shots. I think we also lost our confidence when all their balls were going in and ours weren’t, and it spiraled and we got to just fight through that and be tougher.”

(On the team’s confidence)

“Well let’s hope not. I mean obviously it looked like that tonight a little bit, but we didn’t play bad against the Lakers, we didn’t play bad against Sacramento; we found a way to lose both games, but we’re working hard in practice and it’s not transferring to the court enough, but we’re a little inconsistent, we’ve lost some confidence, but we’ve got to fight through it. We’ve got to be tough and we got to find a way to win some of these games and not feel sorry for ourselves, not hang our heads, not lose our spirit when things aren’t going for us.”

Knicks Head Coach Mike D'Antoni

“They really followed what we tried to do, to take them off threes and play them straight up and make them make hard jump shots and I thought that kind of set the tone and we were just hitting threes. That was kind of the difference in the game. We just played really well. We caught them at a time that they’re trying to find their identity and they will. Anytime you make a trade it’s tough but they’ll bounce back.

Raymond Felton

“The ball was coming my way. Everybody was doing a great job of boxing out so it allowed me to get some rebounds, that’s what really happened so I’ve got to take my hat off to my teammates. Once again they helped me look good tonight. We had an all around game tonight. We had great defense and everybody was clicking on all cylinders offensively and defensively. I thought it was one of our best games this year.”

Amar'e Stoudemire

“It was great, we played great basketball. We did a phenomenal job of playing defensively. We stuck to our strategies, we executed, it was great. We had times throughout the year where we didn’t start the game off and this game was a lot later than we normally play so I wanted to make sure I set the tone early and get us off to an important start. I had one objective and that was too dominated from the start. That was my main goal was to dominate from the get go. I got it going early. Then in the second half they went to a zone and my teammates got it going. The great thing about our team is that we’re so versatile that no matter how teams play us we can adjust”
