Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

just thought we got off to a real good start and I think when you're playing a team like that, our whole goal is to not let them have an opportunity to feel like they were in the game and have a chance to win the game. I think it was very important that we jumped on them early. We did a good job, I thought we kind of maintained the separation and never really had a bad stretch where we let them back into the game.

With games like this and teams like this you really have to stay focused because a lot of times it is going to be a giveaway game for us. But at the same time and on the flip side, they can be really motivated by getting this win and it may help turn their season around. Tonight, from tipoff, we came out and attacked early and kept it going all night.

This is a team that is struggling right now, but they have a lot of guys that play with a lot of pride. And for some reason they always play good against us and we know if we give them any kind of confidence, they have a chance to win at the end. So we have to get on them early, and we did a great job at it this half.

This year we have started with a singular vision, and they have done a great job at coaching us on both ends of the floor. Second, we have a great chemistry amongst us. Everyone enjoys each other and has a great time on and off the court together, and I think that allows us this year to have better depth.

We do a lot of pushing as coaches. I've just always felt players have to learn how to drive themselves. mistakes, the majority of which are inexperience-based. The guys get depressed during the ballgame, and they don't do the things they've been working on. I see Al doing some of the things that he had done in the past, that kind of lets me know that he's starting to feel good. We do a lot of pushing as coaches. I've just always felt players have to learn how to drive themselves."

You have to get more stops. We got Amar'e Stoudemire into foul trouble early, which definitely was a plus. We just didn't act on that and see how good it was that he was out of the game for so long. And a team like that, once they get going and start hitting three-point jump-shots, they thrive off of that type of pace. We just have to get more stops.

We felt really good but we weren't taking advantage of [Stoudemire in foul trouble] and they were hitting shots. Phoenix is a great, they are not just Amar'e Stoudemire, they are a great team
