Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

A really, really good win for us against a real quality team. They present so many problems for you. They are a lot like us offensively. They have guys that can screen and go to the basket. They can post Bosh up and they have shooters all around you. I thought that after the first quarter we were going to have to score 120 points to win the game.

The defense picked up on both sides I think and both teams did a really good job. The switching bothered us a little bit, because we got a little bit stagnant, but we’ll take care of that. I think we’ve got to continue to pace and continue to push the basketball. That slowed us down a little bit.

But when we needed to, we made some pretty big shots. Channing made a couple of big shots for us. I think we got a little more movement back in our offense and Steve did a great job. And then Steve’s play was a big play. The three-point play driving to the basket. But overall I thought we just found a way to grind it out.

It’s the third game where we won with our defense. We needed stops and we came up with stops at the end and I think that’s really encouraging. I mean it’s just a really good win on a night where we didn’t shoot the ball very well. We shot 45 percent and missed a lot of easy shots, and they had a lot to do with that. They have a lot of long guys out there, and Chris Bosh is a heck of a player. He’s active on the board and can step out and shoot the ball. He gave us fits but we found a way. I think Ama’re has continued to improve. He’s still not the finisher he will be.

Suns Forward Amare Stoudemire

We definitely wanted the win and wanted to make sure we took care of home court. That was our main motive out here tonight and then Toronto played well – they played great – and for us to gut it out and get that win the way we did tonight, it was definitely tough, but we got it.

Suns Center Channing Frye

We could have played a little better, but they played tough. They play like we play and they were hitting shots all night tonight and being unselfish. They’re a good team and so it came down to one play, but the statement I think is saying lets take that and try to work with it the rest of the season.

Raptors Head Coach Jay Triano

Well we had two great shots which is what we wanted. The three just went in and out. That last shot is what we wanted and we got the switch we wanted with Stoudemire and it was another good look but it just didn’t go in. Can’t really complain about it.

Raptors Forward Hedo Turkoglu

The ball there for a second. I tried to cross him over and I almost lost it. The shot was just like the shot I made a couple minutes before that on the left corner, and that’s a shot I’ll always take every time.

Raptors Forward Chris Bosh

We would have liked to get the win, but most of the time all you can ask for is to be in every game and have the opportunity to win every game. Especially on the road playing a good team. They have a good record and definitely a good record at home, so just to be in it was nice. We came up a little short and I would have liked to win the basketball game but it happens. We have a lot more games to play. We just have to move on.
