 | Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry
(Opening Statement)
We’ll take it, it was a good win. We needed a win any kind of way we can get it. I thought we played well, but I was a little disappointed in the way that we finished the half. We took a couple of tough shots, and then we lost a couple people in defensive assignments. We went from 12 or 14 points right down to one, so that wasn’t very good. I thought once again, our bench played well. Lou came in and did a great job for us, and even Dudley and those guys came in, and they allow us to rest our starters some and I think that’s really important. Obviously Shaq had a great game, we thought we would have an advantage there with Bargani and Bosh guarding him and we went to him. Our guys did a good job of getting him the ball and he did a good job of finishing and it was a good win.
(On the second team going on a run)
“W didn’t have Shaq and a couple of starters, the team was Lou, Matt, Dudley and LB were in. We did a good job, we switched everything which made us a little more aggressive defensively and we made some stops. That’s why we were able to get a little separation there even in that quarter. Instead of running by taking the ball to the basket we ran by coming up with stops.”

 | Suns forward Louis Amundson (20 PTS, 10 REBS)
(On his confidence level)
“I’ve had a few games where I wasn’t as confident as I could have been, but I got off to a good start tonight and Shaq was drawing so much attention that I was just cutting in there and finishing shots.”
(On what he would do to defend Shaq)
“It’s tough. There’s not much you can do about it. They bring guys in and out in foul trouble and all that, but he’s such a load down there that they can’t do much.”

 | Suns center Shaquille O'Neal (45 PTS, 11 REBS)
(On the game)
“It was cool. Guys were really looking for me and I’ve been saying all year if I can get those touches like that I can do it every night. I’ve been doing it on a consistent basis for 17 years and they were looking for me tonight. It was good that we figured out a way to get stops – offense has really never been a problem for us – we just have to find a way to get stops.”
(On opposing centers)
“It doesn’t matter who is out there – Yao Ming, (Tim) Duncan – that’s any team for me. If I can get touches like that, it doesn’t matter who is out there – they’re going to have to double or triple team me, especially now the way I’m shooting three throws. I think I’m the only player that looks at each and every center and says to myself, ‘that’s barbecue chicken down there.’”
(On where this game ranks in his Suns career)
“It was a fun game. Hopefully there will be many more, but I could do that on a nightly basis if I get those attempts.”

 | Raptors Head Coach Jay Triano
(On the end of the game)
“The first play of the fourth quarter typified it. They made a hard cut to the lane and Chris Bosh picks up his fifth foul. That’s when we kind of lost our momentum.”
(On Shaquille O’Neal’s play tonight)
“We worked early, but he’s just so strong and pushes guys right under the basket and gets inside. We have no match for him.”
(On the Suns continuing their running game)
“I don’t think it had too much to do with their run game as it had to do with them getting the ball to one guy. If you eliminate Shaq’s points tonight, we have a pretty good game. We tried fronting him, playing from behind, we tried double-teaming him. I don’t know what else you can do. This is a team that feeds off of three-pointers and we held them off of the three-point line, but we had no physical answer for their big man.”

 | Raptors forward Shawn Marion (27 PTS, 11 REBS)
(On being back in Phoenix)
“It was cool. It’s always nice to come back here. This is where it all started. It would’ve been nice to get another win though (laughs).”
(On O’Neal’s play tonight)
“He’s a big body, and we had no answer for him. I think at the end we showed some things we could’ve done but nobody could hold him down to stop him.”
(On the game being competitive for three quarters tonight)
“We were right there, man. I don’t know what happened. We just hit the tank or something, and everything just sort of went the other way. It’s frustrating because I think the fight in us just went out the window. We’ll practice tomorrow and try to get the next game.”
