Suns Head Coach Terry Porter

“That hurts; it’s disappointing that we weren’t able to close that out. I thought we played 3 pretty good quarters and then the fourth quarter really did us in. Turning it over, Amare getting kicked out kind of hurt us a little bit momentum wise. That fourth quarter really did us in, gave those guys 43 points, turned the ball over, allowed those guys to get some easy baskets off of our turnovers, and we got non-aggressive. We just stopped being aggressive, stopped having ball movement, and attacking the basket. Give them credit; they made some shots down the stretch that kind of got them going a little bit, a couple big threes. Vince hit that three after the timeout, and Devin hit some big shots down the stretch. I thought it was a game we should have won, but give them credit for making some big plays down the stretch.”

(On most disappointing loss so far)
“I think as far as the way we played and everything, I thought tonight we really went into the game. We started out great and I thought we had great rhythm. Overall, it was disappointing because we had control of the game, and good tempo. The way the 4th quarter went was just disappointing. Again as the game went on, our turnovers went up, it just got worse and worse. That has been a problem since day one, I have to go back to the drawing board. I don’t know what I’m going to do about it, I have to rethink that one. I’m going to search just to find out how that happens. You can’t turn the ball over 23 times and give a team 33 points; you just can’t do it in the league.”

Suns guard Steve Nash

“It was a poor stretch in the second half. We had good energy and we had a good first half. We gave away some opportunities in the first half to have a bigger lead and I think the same was true in the second half and it came back to hurt us. There was a stretch there where they got hot and – it was a very tough loss.”

(On Stoudemire’s ejection)
“It hurt – I think it changed the rhythm of the game. Amar’e was playing well and I think it hurt.”

Suns center Amare Stoudemire

(On his ejection)
“The rule states that I’m allowed to react so long as I don’t continue the verbal towards the official – it was a simple reaction and I got ejected for something like that. I’ve seen players do a lot worse and not even get a technical foul. It’s tough to deal with, especially with a loss like this, but we have practice tomorrow and we’ll figure it out.”

(On the Nets’ offense)
“They had it going all night. They played well, Devin Harris was a force out there and so was Vince Carter. They were two guys who were definitely hard to stop and they got the best of us.”

(On getting back to form)
“I felt great. I was doing everything I could to key us to a win, playing extremely hard and playing off emotion, but we just couldn’t get it done.” (On his frustrations) “We’re OK. I’m not really frustrated; I think we just need to work at what we do best. It’s just going to be continuing to work, studying the game and getting better. It’s a work in progress, but we’ll get it.”

Nets Head Coach Lawrence Frank

“Fourteen Years! That’s it, this conversation is over. We haven’t won here in 14 years! That game could have gone south a bunch of different times. We give up a 35 point first quarter. We finally make a run and the way they ended the second quarter. Our guys showed great guts. And you can’t say enough about the effort of Devin. He was phenomenal.

"Between Vince and Devin, you put a lot of pressure putting those guys up front, with the ball, whether they’re attacking or making the extra pass. Sometimes what goes around comes around, but so far in the early season, we’ve been fortunate in these close games. To get a 43 point fourth quarter doesn’t happen a whole lot and it shows a lot about the grit of our guys, to score 43 points in the fourth quarter of a back to back shows a lot about their guts.”

Nets guard Vince Carter

“We had that mentality of stick with it and compete for 48 minutes. It’s been our motto and it’s been working for us. We were down 10 or 12 points tonight and it was one step at a time, one play at a time and execute. One thing we haven’t done when we’re done is execute.

"Coach did a good job of settling us down and to get us some plays that have been working for us. Devin has been playing off the charts so we put him in pick and rolls and putting Devin in isolations where he can make plays. Once we settled down and played Nets basketball, we got good results.”

Nets guard Devin Harris

“Tonight we just kept going. We took that first punch that they came out with and we fought back and we were able to fight them off.

"It’s good to finally get a win here for the organization and we just wanted top finish the road trip on a high note.

"We found energy. I thought Lawrence did a great job rotating guys in and keeping guys fresh. We had enough energy to finish it off.

"I am proud; I fixed my free throw problem.”
