Suns Head Coach Terry Porter

“(It’s) a great way to finish the trip 3-1. I like the way the guys responded after that Chicago game. I just talked about coming out and setting a tone and responding and finishing this road trip on a good night."

(On Shaquille O’Neal)
“The big fella (Shaquille O’Neal) was great for us tonight and obviously had a serious presence in the post tonight. I’m all for that day off. He had a lot of energy tonight and when we needed him to be a force for us he really was a force for us.”

(On Amar’e Stoudemire)
“Amar’e at this pace is going to be breaking all types of records. He’s tough though. They got bigs who stay connected to his shots when he’s on the floor. When he catches it on the elbow area he’s very tough to guard.”

Suns center Shaquille O'Neal

“When I get a lot of attempts I’m just going to keep shooting. Guys are looking for me. Coach kept calling my name. We were just trying to make them double team and they weren’t doubling. If they did I was just trying to kick it out to my teammates.”

(On having 2 days off)
“I felt fresh. Usually after two days off I feel fresh thanks to the upper management and their decision. You never know until you really get out there, but two days off you can’t complain about that.”

Suns guard Steve Nash

“Our offense is really coming around this year. I think it’s important for (Shaquille) O’Neal to be out there but also for him to feel good.”

(On the new offense)
“I think if Shaq is playing the way he is it’s great. It defeats the purpose if he’s always on the sidelines, but we definitely want him to feel good and maintain during the season."

Bucks Head Coach Scott Skiles

“In both halves the starting unit had trouble coming together from an energy standpoint. I was proud of the bench. Joe (Alexander) came in and played well as did Luc (Mbah a Moute) and Ramon (Sessions). This was just one of those games where we just never could get over the hump. We were kind of slow-footed most of the night and had a hard time finding five guys that worked well together. Defensively we weren’t very sharp and offensively we did a lot of one on one tonight.” (On the fourth quarter offense...) “We had many opportunities during that stretch and just missed shots. Generally when you dig yourself that big of a hole in the first half you almost have to play perfect. We played in spurts tonight and just weren’t good enough.”

(On the need to prevent opponents from getting to the free throw line as much…)
“It’s something we have to address. We have to be able to play defense without fouling. The past two nights we haven’t been as energetic on the defensive end.”

Bucks forward Richard Jefferson

“The bench did an amazing job tonight. They were the reason we had an opportunity to be in this game. The starting group didn’t really have as much energy as we should. I was pretty much out of sync all night. I wish I could have given them a little more help.”

(On the play of Shaquille O’Neal)
“He hit some shots tonight. That is one of the dangers of having Shaq. He’s still a talented guy and I think people underestimate his IQ for the game. He understands the game and knows how to get his teammates involved.”

Bucks guard Charlie Bell

“We were a little sluggish out there in the second night of a back-to-back. Sessions came off the bench and gave us some good minutes. Shaq had an unbelievable night and hit some tough shots.”
