Suns Head Coach Mike Dantoni

(On team’s performance): “I thought it was okay. I wasn’t fairly impressed. I thought we were still a little sluggish, but it was workmanship, we got it done. I thought Grant played really well; he finally got his legs it looked like. Seven for eight, that’s nice if we can keep that rhythm up.”

(On team’s energy): “I’m not really impressed. We are okay. We should have had more energy, we should have played harder. And the crowd is worse than we are. They are deader than we are. Are they waiting until April to yell at us? Well we are yelling at them. Everybody needs to get a little pep in their stomp. This is fun. So right now we need to pick it up, the fans need to pick it up and let’s work for something. They are not going to give it to us.”

Suns guard Steve Nash

“When a team comes in short handed sometimes its difficult to have that same fire. But that’s our job, we have to find a way to find that fire and that intensity and we did the job tonight. We weren’t as efficient as we need to be, and we need to be efficient even on nights when we’re playing a team that’s not firing on all cylinders. We got the win, but we have high standards and we want a little bit more than that.”

(On Grant Hill): “Grant was great. He’s going to do extremely well for this team. I think it’s difficult, that early on a new team, to really play your best. We’re going to give him time and let him come around and get his rhythm and tonight he really showed that he is on his way.”

Suns forward Shawn Marion

(On playing against a short-handed team): “You’re still trying to figure out how they’re playing, if they can shoot, if they can’t shoot.

(On coming home): “It’s been a week, but at the same time it was good. The crowd was behind us and they were into it. It is what it is, and we need them as much as possible.”

“I think we came off the bat tonight playing with a lot of energy, but they hit some crazy shots and hung in there most of the game. But it was still a good win for us.”

Knicks Head Coach Isiah Thomas

“Injuries are definitely part of the game and we’ve certainly been hit with our share this early in the season. I like what I saw in some of our guys tonight. You know, Phoenix is good, they’re as good as advertised. But we did some good things tonight, we have a tough game tomorrow and we’ll keep plugging away. Even with your full team and your best team, it’s still hard to come into this building and play against this team and get a win.”

Knicks Center Eddy Curry

(On Amare')“If I can stay out of foul trouble, I can definitely make his night a lot harder. It kind of goes both ways. That’s a difficult match up for me, but I’m a difficult match up for him. Stopping him will definitely be a team effort when we see him again in New York, and it’ll be the same with me. I think this is a very important time for us. If we can pull together through this it’s going to make us a lot stronger as a team.”

Knicks Guard Jamal Crawford

“We’ll be fine once we get those guys healthy. It was a tough game and now we have to just concentrate on our game tomorrow. You just have to hang together and play with the guys that are out there. Everybody isn’t out there right now, but other teams go through this stuff as well. We just have to hang together, stay together and we’ll be fine.”
