“They made some big plays and we missed some stuff and they missed some stuff, but we made the big play. It always comes down to that between two good teams and that makes it exciting. I’m sure the spectators would have liked something different here in Sacramento, but it was a great game to watch and that’s what it’s all about.”
(On how big a win this is)
“It’s big because it puts a loss on them and a win for us, and we’re trying to keep the lead. It also gives us confidence to know that we can win on the road. So there’s a lot of good positive stuff that happened. We’re still in February so there’s still a long way to go.
“It [the play at the end] was one of those bang-bang things and I would have to see the replay. I haven’t seen it yet. It might be down it, might be up…when the game is decided like that there’s some luck involved and they didn’t get it this time. We got a little lucky and that’s the way the game goes.”
(On Nash)
“He was great tonight, he was open, he took the shots and knocked them down. He’ll do that. He’s a pretty tough guard too. If he’s open he’s going to shoot it and if he’s not he’s going to pass it. You just kind of have to pick your poison.”

“It feels good. They call me the enforcer you know, but it feels good to win the game on a defensive play.”

“It was a block. You know it was a block. They called a block didn’t they? So it was a block.”
“This was a great win definitely. They’re a good team and you can’t take nothing away from them. We got some big stops at the end when we needed to and got a good “W”.”

“I thought it was goal-tending but obviously it wasn’t. The ball was up in the air and the guy came over and I haven’t seen the replay so I can’t tell you for sure.”
(On second quarter play)
“Well, they are difficult, we talked about it and they just keep coming at you. They are going to run out on us. I thought the biggest difference in the game was the third quarter when we turned it over six or eight times and left some lay-ups at the other end. We just made too many mistakes. We make the three in the corner and (Amare) Stoudemire runs out down the sideline because Brad (Miller) is under the basket and our guards don’t pick him up and he gets fouled. You make a shot and you give up something in five seconds and you can’t celebrate that. We talked about it and talked about it and when you are playing this team they are just going to keep coming at you.”
(On no Kings All-Stars)
“Obviously, I thought we would have someone on there. Once Phoenix got three guys on the team it was going to make it difficult depending on who the coaches looked at and I definitely think one of our guys deserved to have that spot. It’s a really difficult situation when you only have twenty-four spots and you have thirty teams and ten spots are picked by the fans. That doesn’t leave the coaches a whole lot of choices.”

“It was an open shot. You’ve just got to knock down your open shots. If they give them to you, you’ve got to take advantage, but we didn’t get the win."
(On defending Steve Nash)
“We tried to keep Steve [Nash] from penetrating and getting into the key and making plays. I think we did a pretty good job with that. I think we had a good game plan and we had a chance to win. It’s a tough break.”
“You can’t dwell on anything, you’ve got to move on. But at the same time, tonight is going to sting a little bit. We’ve got another tough team to get ready for, and that’s where our focus needs to be.”
