Following Chris Wilcox’s workout at America West Arena on Wednesday night, Suns.com caught up with the power forward’s agent, Rock Newman, who set up the private session for NBA teams.

Suns.com: Can you talk about holding a workout like this one, in which several NBA teams are able to come in and see Chris? What are the advantages doing it this way as opposed to Chris traveling around and visiting teams for private workouts?

Newman: Well, when he left school, in the championship game, he had a little bit of a hamstring injury. My partners and I all got together, and thought about what was the best way to preserve him going into the draft and allow him to heal, and at the same time get him in shape to be 100%. We had to delay the workouts, rehabilitate him, get his conditioning together and then we wanted the maximum amount of people to still see him. So the way we thought was best was for the three workouts, where each team in the lottery could see him. We think it’s worked out well.

Suns.com: How did tonight’s workout compare to the previous two?

Newman: You know, I think that they’re similar. I think that he showed over a period of time in each of them, different things and different strengths. We’re really satisfied. Clearly as a result of the way he has worked out his stock just continues to rise and we’re excited about that. He’s going to Houston tomorrow and Houston is seriously giving him consideration as a possible No. 1 pick if the Yao (Ming) situation doesn’t work out. His upside is unlimited. He could go anywhere now. We’re real excited.

Suns.com: What do you expect from Chris at the next level?

Newman: A superstar with flare and excitement. The kind of guy who can really help a team win and pack fans in the stands. He has that kind of style.
