Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

On tonight's loss
“It think it would have been a little easier to swallow if it had been Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett. But at the end of the day it was the bench that really hurt us the most. I think you know, obviously Sullinger played great, I thought he was real active and he rebounded the ball like I’m sure everyone anticipated him doing. Then I thought Jason Terry came in and hurt us, and then Jeff Green, I thought Jeff Green was really good. So those three guys if you look at it are the ones that hurt us the most and you know we couldn’t quite get over the hump. We made a good run and got back ahead and then you know, turnovers, and the things that really have been an Achilles heel for us…turnovers, defensive breakdowns. You know, we’re not going to be able to get over the hump until we correct those things. And we play a good team like this, a veteran team that’s so used to being in championship races and stuff like that, and if you don’t execute and do exactly the right thing then they’re going to find a way to counter that.”

On road games
“Obviously it’s difficult to win on the road anyways in the NBA. But we’ve had numerous opportunities were we did the right thing and executed the right way and we could have had a win to put ourselves in a position to win. We just got to do that, we’ve got to get better at it, and we’ve got to be able to complete plays and we’ve got to be able to come up with possessions by acquiring the rebound. But we’ve just got to, like I said to the guys, no one’s going to dig us out of this, we’ve got to dig ourselves out of this. And no one feels sorry for you in the NBA. So it’s got to be us with the execution, and us completing the plays, and us doing the right things.”

Suns Forward Luis Scola

On the second half
"We were struggling. We play well at times, but we weren’t all season long able to play well all 48 minutes, one game of 48 minutes of good basketball. We always have lapses, sometimes it happens early, sometimes it happens a little bit later. Sometimes it’s the first unit, sometimes it’s the second unit, but it always happens. And we just lose games because we couldn’t fix it and it happens pretty much, even in the games we’ve won it happens.”

On going on a 17 point run after being down 12 at the half
“I don’t think we did anything special. We play well at times, we just not able to play 48 minutes worth. We were playing well in the first half too, you know we had a good first quarter and then you know they get ahead 10 points and then we come back and then again, we keep doing that, we go up and down. Which is not good enough to pay that way.”

Boston Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers

On Celtics bench
"The whole bench, I mean, I just thought their energy,in both halves, the starters started out poorly, the bench came in and got us the lead. And then our starters in the first half extended it, but then in the third quarter came out flat again and our bench came in and did it again. Jared was terrific with his rebounding and just all the little things he does out there, but I thought Courtney (Lee), I thought Jet (Jason Terry), Jeff (Green), all those guys, they’re playing very well together. Even the small stretch – and we didn’t want to use (Jason) Collins; we had no choice – even he came in and did terrific for us. So that’s nice when you can have a night where your starters aren’t great and your bench wins the game for you.”

On Celtics defense
“Well what I was happy with – and I think Longo (Assistant Coach Mike Longabardi) and our defensive guys have their own creative numbers sometimes. But I think they scored four or six points out of pick and roll. And that’s what they do. And so to be able to, in this game, take that away, I’m very proud of them. And they played last night, too. So a lot of their shots were open, a lot of them were front-rim, and I think a lot of that have to do with time change – which I think should never happen; you know my rule against that – and I think it’s very difficult to play that next night. You could see that in them a little bit tonight.”

Boston Celtics Center Kevin Garnett

On Sullinger
“First off is effort. Anytime you’re playing defense, anytime your'e stealing the ball, rebounding…all that’s effort. Obviously his timing, body positioning, he has the perfect body for rebounding. He can take the pounding and bump a little bit and he has great anticipation when it comes to the ball, and he has great hands. Put all that in the pot, you got Jared Sullinger, that’s what makes him great.”

On Celtics bench
“I think the combination of Courtney Lee and no disrespect to Rondo or any other guards we got, but Courtney Lee and Avery are impacting the game from a defensive stand point from the guard position where it all trickles down to all the forwards. When we see them up like that, we get up and then we up to what we call major pressure. Any time you can pressure the guards and take time off the shot clock, you put the other team into a panic and now they gotta go into a pic and roll versus some play the were gonna call on us.”

On staying out of foul trouble
“I’m just learning the game. Instead of just watching what we do defensively and offensively, I do that and I watch the refs to see what they’re gonna call, so I’m just reading around”

On rebounding
“You gotta have a go get it attitude when it comes to rebounding and that’s what I have.”
