Suns Head Coach Alvin Gentry

(On tonight’s performance…) “This is a team that you cannot turn the ball over against. I believe they’re second in the league in forcing turnovers. We just have to make sure we’re getting a good shot at the basket. We just didn’t come up with plays tonight. We have to come up with stops. That’s where the separation came from tonight. We have to do a better job all around.”

(On room for performance…) “We just have to do better all around. We can’t play 40 minutes where we play pretty good, giving ourselves an opportunity and then let it deteriorate over a five-minute period. That’s kind of how our season has gone. The season is getting away. Obviously, if we’re going to have any chance of getting into the playoff race we’re going to have to do much better and we have to do it right away.”

Suns Center Marcin Gortat

(On tonight’s game…) “A very, very difficult game. In the beginning we played great, we played just the way we wanted. We moved the ball, shared the ball. Played very nice basketball, screen and roll, passing to each other, getting to the open guy, making unselfish plays, and we made shots. We enjoyed playing together. In the second half, things went down. Brandon Jennings just took it over. He started shooting threes, we couldn’t stop him. We made a few mistakes on the pick-and-roll. We didn’t make an adjustment. When you play against the home team like that, they have momentum, fans, and they’re rolling, it’s really hard to stop them. Tough loss. Really tough loss. We thought we were going to have this one. We are hoping we can break the losing streak.”

(On the difference between the first half and second half…) “We took the lead [into the third quarter]. We didn’t play the game we wanted to play in the second half. We started turning the ball over. Simple plays where we couldn’t pass to each other. They stripped the ball from our hands a few times, including me. We just can’t win a game like that. Fewer offensive rebounds. That’s it. That’s all you need in an NBA game to lose it.”

Suns Guard Jared Dudley

(On tonight’s game…) “Great first quarter, we were up by seven. We jumped on them. We were getting out in transition, unselfish first quarter, making plays. Second quarter, the bench struggled a little bit. They’re having a little trouble right now.

Sometimes it’s [the starters] in the third quarter; the second quarter bench is struggling right now with shot selection, identity, that we’ve got to clean up. In the fourth quarter we have to make plays. Brandon Jennings started to get aggressive, shoot the threes in transition. We tried to make an adjustment, but by then he’s

already hit three [threes]. In the fourth quarter, we didn’t get many stops. They did a good job, credit them, when they did miss it, their bigs got rebounds and went back up with it. We have to make plays in the fourth quarter, and we didn’t do that again.”

(On playing a complete game to get out of the team’s slump…) “I definitely think that [is a key]. I think, for the starters, for the most part, first half we’ve been pretty good. Third quarter we’ve been a little shaky. The bench has to give us something. In the third quarter, starters have to hold their end of the bargain. You try to hang in the game as much as you can in the first half; second half is when starters start to earn their money and making plays. Bench has to give us a chance to make those plays. It’s a two-way street on both of them, it is 48 minutes. There’s going to be runs. We need them to make someruns for us to help us out too.”

Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Jim Boylan

(On the game tonight…) “I told the guys after the game that it was a nice win. It was great to come out and break our little losing streak that we had going…Take over, have a coaching change, and come out and get the first win. It was great. Everybody kind of brought something to the table. Everybody contributed, so that was a real positive. That’s the message that I’m trying to get through to the guys. We can all do something to help the team.”

(On post rotations tonight…) “I like the way it looks right now. I like Ersan [Ilyasova] out there for his offense, his hustle and his rebounding.John [Henson] is still trying to find his scoring in the NBA. He gets the ball in some places, and he is so long that he really gives people a hard time when he is gathered around the basket with his pump fakes and his ability for him as right-handed player to use his left hand, you’d swear he’s a left-handed player. That’s a tough cover for most defenses.”

(On balanced scoring tonight…) “We talked about trying to create more of an atmosphere of team. I thought our guards did a good job of being aggressive and trying to be distributors too. It was good to see that combination.”

Milwaukee Bucks Forward Ersan Ilyasova

(On tonight’s game…) “It was a really big win for us, especially with our four-game losing streak and it being in our house in front of our fans. It was a really big win for us, but we have to maintain this. We have a game in Chicago tomorrow, and it’s going to be really tough. We have to push with the same mentality and be aggressive, step up on the floor and try to win the game.”

(On the coaching change…) “Sometimes when you have changes like this, you get a little extra motivation. This was [the] key from my standpoint. Everybody brought something to the table tonight. The coach will give you directions, but we did what we were supposed to do. We shared the ball. We played really great defensively in the second half. We stopped them on the fast break, and it gave us the chance to win the game.”

Milwaukee Bucks Forward John Henson

(On Jim Boylan’s coaching debut…) “It’s always good to win, but to give him his first win in his first game is always a stress-reliever for everybody. That’s something we got off our chests, and now we play tomorrow.”

(On the offensive output tonight …) “We just played well tonight. I think we moved the ball well, passed it well, and we came out with the victory.”

(On the Chicago game tomorrow…) “We’ve got to rebound. They’re a good boarding team, and they’ve been hot lately and beaten some good teams, so we’ve got to keep going.”
