Suns alumnus Scott Williams along with The Gorilla visited four Phoenix elementary schools to deliver school supplies on Tuesday, August 31. The event was part of the Phoenix Suns Drive for Excellence Program, powered by Kia Motors.

Students from Balsz Elementary, Griffith Elementary, Brunson Lee Elementary, and Crockett Elementary also enjoyed The Gorilla’s entertaining antics as he acted out his favorite book, “Sick But Slick,” while Williams read the story aloud.

More than 2,000 students each received Suns/Kia co-branded notebooks and pencil pouches filled with pencils, pens, erasers, a pencil sharpener and a ruler.

In addition, the schools will receive more than 100 tickets to a 2010-11 Suns game to establish a rewards program in which one male and one female student per month will be chosen based on pre-determined benchmarks. The school supplies and game tickets are courtesy of Kia Motors, Proud Partner of the Phoenix Suns.
