Posted: Jan. 12, 2011

Phoenix Suns General Manager Lance Blanks will be among a small number of NBA executives featured on ESPN’s news magazine show Outside the Lines today, Jan. 12.

The show airs locally at 1 p.m. Phoenix time.

The focus of the piece coincides with the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday and the anniversary of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 1972 hiring of Wayne Embry as the first African-American general manager in NBA history.

In his first season with the Suns, Blanks is currently one of eight African-American general managers in the NBA.

Beginning today, ESPN will present “Content of Character,” a week of multi-platform programming highlighting Dr. King’s legacy and the contemporary image of African American athletes and leaders in sports.
