The Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury Host a Memorable Clinic with Snowball Express

On Veteran’s Day, November 11, the Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury hosted a special event in partnership with the Snowball Express organization. The Snowball Express, an all-volunteer and non-profit organization, represents families who have lost someone in the military service since September 11, 2001. Their mission is to create new memories and a network of hope for these special families through different events throughout the United States. The Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury was pleased to take part in this event and make it a lasting memory for these families.

The Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury and the Snowball Express organized a kid's clinic for these families on the Phoenix Suns practice court followed by a reception in the Al McCoy Media Center.

The Snowball Express children participated in a clinic hosted by Suns legend and Ring of Honor member Alvan Adams and Phoenix Mercury assistant coach and alumnus Bridget Pettis. Alvan Adams took one half of the court to teach kids the fundamentals of shooting and rebounding. Bridget Pettis took the other half of the court to teach kids the importance of passing, defensive slides, and dribbling. Alvan Adams and Bridget Pettis also had an opportunity to bond and talk with the kids. It was a rewarding experience for everyone in attendance.

After the clinic, the Phoenix Suns Gorilla made a surprise visit and led the families to dinner. The Gorilla signed autographs, took pictures, handed out goodies, and had a great time meeting everyone. Alvan Adams and Bridget Pettis also signed autographs and joined the families for dinner.

It was a great opportunity for the Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury to partner up with the Snowball Express organization. The Snowball Express families had a great time and a memorable experience.
