The Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury continues to grow as the program has added five new affiliates in the past year and has expanded to become one of the largest leagues in the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA. Beginning in 1999, the program started with the Valley of the Sun YMCA as its inaugural partner.

The program grew by adding its first municipality partner, the City of Glendale. In the past year, the league has established partnerships with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale, Boys and Girls Club of the East Valley, Town of Camp Verde, City of Casa Grande , and Prescott Valley Youth Basketball.

The relationship between the Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury and its affiliates is an integral part of the success and continued program growth.

“The partnerships we have developed are very valuable to the Suns organization,” said Program Director Mark Gretter. “Quality people like the sports directors from various affiliates show dedication and enthusiasm that help make our program work so well.”

Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury offer a variety of unique features and benefits not matched by any other youth basketball league. For more information about our affiliates, please click on the Leagues page.
