Boys and Girls Club and Fountain Hills Team Up for Jr. Suns/Jr. Mercury Basketball
Posted: Nov. 20, 2007
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch and the Town of
Fountain Hills Parks and Recreation Department will be partnering this spring to offer “Fountain Hills
Youth Basketball” to the families of Fountain Hills. Both organizations offered successful basketball
programs in the past and felt it was time to combine resources for the benefit of Fountain Hills residents.
“As a Fountain Hills resident, parent, and also a person who works with youth in the community, I just
want what is best for the kids and parents,” stated Rich Schultz, McKee Branch Director.
“Recent changes to both programs made it possible to consider a partnership,” stated Bryan Hughes,
Town’s Supervisor of Recreation. “We both have the same goal; to provide a quality basketball program
for the youth of Fountain Hills. This partnership is a win-win for everyone involved.”
Registrations are currently being accepted at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch
from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. The cost is $85 per participant and includes eight games,
play-offs, jersey, shorts, referees, and awards. The deadline for registrations is Friday, December 7, 2007.
