No. 3, Gerald Green
(After beating the 76ers on Monday)
”We were just trying to pick up where we left off second half. Last night's second half was a great second half for us, and we told ourselves today that we wanted to be better, we wanted to start off quicker, than we normally have been the last few games.
”We said, ‘Let’s start off this game defensively with a better sense of urgency than we have been starting with,’ and we did that and got a little cushion. We knew they were going to make a run because they're a pretty good team, but we consistently sustained our lead and ended up getting the win tonight.”
No. 2, Goran Dragic
(On the big win in Indiana)
”Before the game the coaches and the players talked and we agreed that we are at our best when we start well. And we did that in the first two quarters and were able to get up 17 points at halftime. We wanted to play up tempo because we knew that they might be tired. The third quarter cost us a little bit. But we stayed strong and at the end we fought and fought and held them off.
”I thought we did two things well. I thought we got of a lot of loose balls, a lot of rebounds and after that we tried to play fast and get some transition points or get to the free throw line. I thought we did a good job of those two things. This was our fourth game in five nights so this was a huge trip for us. We were able to win all four games and it’s always nice when you can win on the road, especially here.”
No. 1, Jeff Hornacek
(On the win in Milwaukee)
“We have had that tendency throughout the year when we get up early to relax. If you aren’t scoring, you have to at least play defense and we did neither during that stretch and let them back into the game.
”Finishing out the quarter with the guys that are in there doesn’t mean you don’t have to come out after half and not be ready to go.”
