Center | 6’-11” | 215 lbs. | Kentucky

The last time Kentucky’s 6’11” center was seen on the court, Nerlens Noel went down to a gruesome-looking torn ACL that ultimately ended his freshman season with the Wildcats. Prior to that moment, though, Noel had established himself as one of the best – if not the best – defenders in collegiate basketball. Using his reach and athletic ability, he blocked 106 shots in just 24 games played. The big man also was quick enough to average more than two steals per game and hauled in 9.5 rebounds per game. Noel made an impact immediately in Kentucky, undoubtedly a place where you have to stand out to get noticed.

“We shouldn't compare Nerlens Noel to Anthony Davis. But we can't help ourselves … Through 16 games of a freshman season, Noel holds his own in a comparison with Davis, who led UK to the 2012 national championship. He scores, shoots, rebounds and blocks nearly as much. He averages twice as many steals. Maybe most importantly, Noel contributes in a similarly multi-faceted way which inspires teammates.”
